What is modern slavery ?
Slavery still continues today in different
forms in every country in the world. Women
are forced into prostitution, adults and children are forced to work in agriculture, domestic work and many other types of works.
• Human trafficking :
It involves 2,5 million men, women and children. The
people « whis »exploit them use violence, deception or
coercion and all are forced to work against their will.
They can be trafficked for many different forms of exploitation like prostitution or forced organ removal.
• Domestic Work :
Domestic workers do lots of tasks in private homes like
cooking, cleaning, washing the laundry and taking care
of children. Some of them also live in their employer's
homes and work day and night. They aren’t given any
wages.
• Child and forced marriage :
It involves children under 18. UNICEF estimates that 11 %
of women worldwide were married before reaching the age
of 15. Although boys can be affected by this practise, it's
mostly girls that are concerned.

and Bernadina :
Jeria's story :
She is a Lithuanian girl, she was 17
years when she was kidnapped by
traffickers. They forced her to have
sex with men and she was beat if she
refuses. Now she is free but she's
unhappy and she regularly use drink
and drugs.
Bernardina's story :
She came to Lima (Peru) to work as a domestic worker when
she was 15 years. When she first
arrived, she was humble and shy.
Her employer took advantage because she was just a young girl.
She used to work from 6 am to
midnight. Now she is free and
she studies hard to give to his future children a better future.
