Something to Ponder
The Sheriff’s Office in Pinellas
County, Florida is dealing with a typo
heard ‘round the world. For several
months nobody noticed the mistake
imprinted on their welcome mat, but
that all changed when a deputy spotted the error. The $500 rug inadvertently carried the phrase, “IN DOG WE
TRUST.” The company responsible
for manufacturing it is correcting the
wording while the simple doormat will
live on in viral infamy (Google “In Dog
We Trust” for a picture). It’s a mistake
any of us could make and some poor
soul has no doubt had a hard time
explaining how he or she inverted the
letters. In reality, we’ve all been guilty
of the same thing but on a far worse
scale. Maybe we spelled it differently
but the effect was the same - we substituted something else for God. So
look at that mat and let it inspire you
to keep God in His rightful place.
World, 2/7/15, p.19.
It is a blessing to serve as your
pastor. Do not hesitate to call
should you ever need me.

It is our desire for every person to become a disciple of Jesus Christ who
loves God and people. We believe this happens best in a biblical community
in which people are learning God’s Word, sharing the good news of Jesus
Christ, ministering to each other, and serving together. At FBC, Sunday
School allows you to connect with people in a similar season of life as you
seek to live a lifestyle that looks more and more like Jesus. Join us on
Sundays at 9 a.m. to find a class that is right for you. For more info, pick up
a Sunday School brochure in the vestibule or outside the church office.

NEW MINISTRY! THE PRAYER
BLANKET MINISTRY is a symbol of
faith and the covering with prayer for
the person that receives the blanket.
This ministry is designed to celebrate
the birth of a baby and to offer comfort
to those enduring a difficult time or
sickness. The blankets given are tied
with knots and before a new blanket is
assembled a prayer is said. The blankets will be monogrammed with FBCO
and a scripture reference. If you are
interested in helping make these beautiful love knot blankets, please call the
church office and someone will contact
you regarding the first organizational
meeting for this ministry.
