PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
I approached Margaret Moore and the Women’s Golf Association for ideas to raise money for
replacing the 6th fairway restrooms and Jason’s office. Needless to say the response was immediate, positive and proactive. The MWGA will have a “play day” on Saturday, May 2 for
members, their families and guest. The course will be closed for traditional weekend play but
tee times will be available for a $50.00 PP donation. Your donation will include cart and lunch.
While there will be no tournament, there will be other contest and drawings. All proceeds go to
the MWGA who in turn will put that money towards the construction of the restrooms. Hopefully you will be able to participate and if not please consider a donation payable to the MWGA.
The drawings are not limited to players! Again Kudos to our Women’s association!
I have always promoted the social and scenic opportunity that our golf course gives our membership. I like many of you take the opportunity to watch sunsets, the eagles and other wildlife
in the late afternoon. During these times there are also members and guest playing golf.
Please be considerate of the players by making sure that you are not on the course or in their
line of sight. Likewise make sure that our 4 legged family members are under your control.
There have been complaints of carts on the fairways during times when it has been extremely
wet and we are “cart paths only”. Aside from our members our biggest asset is our course. As
members we need everyone to make sure that we protect that asset and observe the conditions!
We have several new members that recently joined MCC. Teresa Harrod has done an excellent
job in getting the word out. For our new members I want to thank you for joining and on behalf
of the Board a sincere welcome to MCC.
Hopefully May will allow for better golfing conditions. Thank you for supporting MCC!

FROM YOUR CLUBHOUS E MANAGER
Get ready everyone because April is the Kick-off to summer here at the club. Not only is the
pool due to open up on Memorial Day weekend, but one of the best tournament weekends is
going on at the same time. The MCC Four Ball starts May 21st. We will have two great bands,
cook-outs, a DJ for the kids at the pool and we finish up with the Fried Chicken Buffet on Sunday. To all of the new members, don’t leave town or make other plans. You don’t have to be in
the tournament to enjoy all that goes on that weekend. Come see how we do it at the MCC.
Keep watching out for new events as we add them on through the month. I will send out reminders for the daily specials and more fun parties as we schedule them. And, the best part of
being a member at MCC is the opportunity to use your club at a minimal cost. This is Birthday,
Anniversary, Reunion and Wedding Central!
Remember, the pool is also available for after hour parties during Summer. Call me for details
and rates. We will make it happen.

My name is Keith Montgomery and I am happy
to join the Maumelle community as the Teaching
Pro at Maumelle County Club. I have been playing tennis tournaments since I was 10 years old.
I first became a member of the USTA in 1978
and helped teach junior tennis programs at Balboa Tennis Center in San Diego, CA. I was the
Head Teaching pro at Baton Rouge Athletic and
Racquet Club for 5 years before moving back to
my home of Arkansas in 1993. In 1996 I finished the year as the #3 ranked open player in
AR., and captained a men’s 5.0 tennis team to
sectionals in 1998. I teach juniors to seniors
with an emphasis on stroke production and conditioning/fitness. I have tennis leagues starting
up soon and am already giving private and
group lessons. Please reach out to me if you are
a tennis player in Maumelle at 501-247-7262.
Come join us. I look forward to seeing you.
