Message from Chamber President, Gordon Haig
INSIDE THIS ISSUE
Greetings Everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great fall and looking forward to the coming Holiday
Season. We had a very busy year in 2013.
Our Chamber, and the other five Chambers throughout Muskoka, partnered together to
kick off an advertising campaign to promote shopping in Muskoka, so when you are out
doing your Christmas shopping this year we hope you will choose a Chamber Member
First, and keep it in Muskoka!
Our Christmas dinner will be on Thursday December 5, 2013 at the Trillium Resort &
Spa in Port Sydney this year. Price is $40 per person which includes a buffet dinner,
taxes, gratuities, live music and guest favours. Consider making this your Company
Christmas party and bring your employees, friends and family. It is always a great night
and we will be presenting our Business of the Year Awards. Tickets going fast - get
yours now!

Coming Events
This year we partnered with Mary Lake Association and introduced the Member’s
Privilege Card. Lots of positive feedback on this initiative and will find details and
application form on the chamber website www.portsydneycoc.com
The Chamber received a BEAM (Broadband for E-Business and Marketing) grant for a
new website this year. We are currently working on the new site with our designer,
Client First Canada, and will be going live some time in December.
We are also working on the 57th Annual Winter Carnival event and trying to introduce
new activities for 2014.
At this time I would like to thank our Board of Directors, Management Staff and
also all of the many volunteers within our communities that come out and help at all the
different events. We are so very fortunate to have so many wonderful volunteers in our
communities. They really do help to make the difference and make this a great place to
live work and play.
Best wishes for a safe and happy holiday season.
Cheers!
