Romantic Comedy: 1 x 85 minutes
Amanda (Fiona Gillies - Casualty, Waking the Dead) is a city high
flyer who has it all, and what she doesn’t have she gets, in this
fresh and hilarious romantic comedy. For Amanda life is perfectly
on track. She’s climbed the corporate ladder, has an equally
successful city executive on her arm and a family is in the diary –
eggs frozen and ready, naturally.
But this perfect world is suddenly turned upside down when her
eggs, frozen in her prime and ready to use when the time is right, are
accidently defrosted. If Amanda’s going to have children, she’s going to
have to do it as nature intended… and quickly!
Her partner Charles (Adrian Lukis - Bert & Dickie, Silent Witness) offers
to squeeze in some baby making between his business trips but, as it
turns out, he’s not into being the stay-at-home father Amanda requires.
As the plan certainly does not include giving up her hard won career,
Amanda needs to find a man who’s willing to sacrifice everything to
bring up their baby.
With her father Ray (Oscar and Golden Globe nominee Tom Conti - The
Dark Knight Rises, Shirley Valentine) unexpectedly crashing back into her
life, and Louisa (Matilda Ziegler - Mr. Bean), her spirited best friend and
confidante on hand, she begins her quest for the Perfect Man.
There may be a lot of men out there but none seem to have that magic
combination of youth, intelligence, good looks and, crucially, a total
lack of ambition – none that is until she meets Dan (Geoffrey Streatfeild
- The Thick of It, Spooks), who seems to be the perfect city slacker.
Perhaps she isn’t strictly honest about her motives, but then, neither
is he… And all the while lurking in the background is the vengeful
Charles, plotting a very public humiliation for them both.
In this modern, entertaining tale of relationships, morals and biological
clocks, Amanda soon discovers that life doesn’t always go to plan. But
sometimes, the ending can be much sweeter than ever anticipated.
