Learning?

W
ith our many years’ experience accumulated in the English Language
Sector, Second Level Education and the IT Industry we are aware of
the expectations of today’s students and what is required of them in this
fast paced working world.
We know that our foreign students’ English levels are improving each year
thus rather than continuing with the standard tried and tested language
courses which are offered by most schools we cater for those looking for
something different, innovative and exciting.
Future Learning is run by enthusiastic people that understand today’s
Digital Natives and their eagerness to participate in technology enhanced
learning. With this in mind the entire schooling is centered around
harnessing the everyday devices which students are familiar with and
eager to use in the classroom. These devices include tablets, mobile
phones, desktop computers and laptops.
“...different, innovative and exciting.”
Why Choose Future Learning?

Why Choose Future Learning?
We are different
“....our lessons are 100% paperless!”
M
ost language schools offer the standard 3 hours of English lessons
five days a week in a classroom but that is not the case at Future
Learning. Our students’ day is split into 1.5 hours of English lessons,
involving the use of interactive boards, eBooks, Digital Presentations and
tablet devices*. Future learning does not use the traditional books and
paper handouts which you may be used to, but instead uses an online
VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) for the exchanging of notes, teacher
comments, project submission and general information.
The other 1.5 hours is dedicated to learning English through project and
collaboration work. An example of this project work involves each student
creating a web based ePortfolio which will showcase the work and learning
they have completed. This also serves as a great way for parents to keep
track of their son/daughter’s stay with us.
In addition to this students will select two other optional modules (the
module list will be provided in advance of your arrival) and students will of
course have the opportunity to complete further modules as an afternoon
activity if they wish to do so.
Our lessons are 100% paperless! Students still write, but we insist that our
teachers use the available technologies to maximize active participation
and to reduce needless waste.
3
*our chosen learning device is the Apple iPad but any tablet device is acceptable and if you don’t have a tablet device don’t worry as we can arrange one for your lessons.
T
o cater for everyones needs, we offer both Residential and Home
Stay accommodation. Our Residential accommodation is based
in the Waterside House Hotel which is located directly on the sea
front in Donabate. Our high quality Host Families are based within
the local area of Malahide, a safe and family orientated seaside
village which is very well connected to Dublin City Centre by both
the Dart and Commuter Trains taking approximately 25 minutes.
Malahide and Donabate are conveniently located under 10km &
15km from Ireland’s main airport, Dublin Airport, and boast stunning
sceneries includingLambay Island, Ireland’s Eye and the Irish Sea.

Why Choose Future Learning?
Dublin Suburbs Location: Malahide & Donabate
Our Modern School : Donabate Community College
In
order to class Future Learning as
a school which is at the forefront
of technology enhanced learning
it is essential we have the correct
building, the correct infrastructure
and the correct facilities. Our school in
Donabate is one of the most technologically advanced
buildings in the country, it was opened only over 2
years ago and has the ability to cater for 1,000 students
- space is not a problem! We are confident in saying that
our school and its facilities have the edge over all other
schools in Dublin, and perhaps I reland.
The school is a fifteen minute drive from Malahide and
just one stop away on the train (known as the DART)
from the Malahide village taking just 4 minutes.

Y
e all like to show off our hard work and Future Learning is keen
to showcase each student’s talent. What better way to this than
displaying this work instantly online and allowing friends, family and
classmates to view it all over the world. ePortfolio is the one mandatory
module of our course where every student will be taught how to create
and update their own online ePortfolio. This unique module instantly
allows our students to display all their exciting work along with sharing
their images and experiences of Ireland and Future Learning.
our Future Learning teachers are young, energetic and willing to assist you both
inside and outside the classroom in any way they can. English language lessons
in the classroom last 1.5 hours each day and we cater for beginner, intermediate and
advanced levels. These levels are determined by sitting a test which students take
on the first Monday morning of their arrival. In our lessons there is a large focus on
keeping the student interested, sharing views, group work and throughout all of
this we consistently encourage creativity.
Hold on, I’m a teenager and I like to view information on my mobile phone and tablet, is this
possible? Of course, we know teenagers like to surf the internet on their phones so your ePortfolio
will be fully compatible and mobile friendly :)
In addition to the ePortfolio here is an example of some more exciting modules:
• iOS and Android App Building
• Learning to develop a website using HTML
• Creating and editing Stop motion movies in international groups using HD cameras
• 3d Computer Aided Design Modelling
• + lots more when you arrive (we don’t want to give too much away!!)

“...it does not matter if you are not so technologically experienced
as we have the ability and knowledge to cater for all levels”
A
fternoon activities are as important for us as providing high
quality and technologically enhanced English lessons. A wide
selection of activities is available for the afternoons. These take
place in the school, the local sports complex (which is beside the
school), and of course in the picturesque village of Malahide. Here
you can view a sample of some of our planned afternoon activities.
Students will take part in a mixture of these listed afternoon activities
as well as exploring Dublin City and the beautifully landscapes of
the surrounding Irish countryside
