We demonstrate how you can place your lighting easily by using the
view of the scene from the light's perspective. You can see in the
images below how much difference good lighting can make.
Render with No Lights
Render w/ Speed Lighting
For the purposes of this demonstration, we used DAZ Studio 4.7 Pro
with the Layout City Limits and Style Darkside.

Now add 4 Distant Lights into the Scene from the main menu using their
default settings.

Right away you will notice that the Genesis 2 Female is lit up. However
if you look closely, you can see the dark shadow on her backside which
is caused by all 4 lights shining on her in the same direction.

Now for the real trick to speed up the lighting of your scenes. Using the
Viewport controls, change the viewport view selection to be from the
perspective of one of our lights. Let's start with DistantLight 1.
You will immediately see the view change to what DistantLight 1 sees.

Now use the Viewport controls to Orbit, Pan and Zoom this light around
the figure until you get the lighting effect you desire.
This technique will work with other types of lights and is how you can
quickly position cameras within a scene. Repeat this process like we did
for the other Distant Lights (or whatever type you added).

Here are the various angles we used for our four lights:
DistantLight1
DistantLight2
DistantLight3
DistantLight4
Once you have positioned all of the lights, you can adjust the intensity
individually to suit your desires for softer or brighter lighting.

Set the Viewport back to the Default Camera and you will be ready to
render your newly lighted figure.

Now run your Render again to ensure you have the lighting you desire.
