Philosophy and values
E
ven in the present market situation, we are firmly convinced there
is only one road to take: innovation. Exploring new directions that
nobody has ever ventured along, every day creating something
better than the day before.
Right from the founding of our Group, we have translated this innovative
spirit into a principle - development as a constant feature of
management - that stimulates every action and choice. This impulse has
guaranteed our growth over the years, making us a firm reference point
when it comes to advanced, safe and reliable electrical systems.
Today we are facing an important new challenge: to enter a new
dimension. We have to widen our horizons and open up to the world
market, adapting our products and services to the characteristics of the
individual markets. But without giving up the very things that have made us
a leader: the search for quality and our technological competitiveness.
We will reach our goals thanks to the enthusiasm, the skills, and
the ability to look beyond the present that “GEWISS people”
must all have if we want to build our future.
We just have to believe and be especially enterprising: success is
guaranteed if we are all dedicated to our jobs, doing our best every day.

The Group
Over the years GEWISS has established itself as a leading market
player in the international electrotechnical industry, with offices,
subsidiaries, agencies and production sites in more than 80 nations.
T
he Company’s success is due to
several factors including its capacity
to pinpoint customer needs and
create a winning company strategy. With
the rise of globalisation, corporate interest
is increasingly targeting international
operations in pursuit of different leadership
strategies. This is why GEWISS has developed
and implemented an innovative foreign
trade model over the years. Because its
own markets have expanded, GEWISS has
combined segments of product demand in
various countries, optimising its investments
and achieving consistent benefits.
This has enabled it to forge agreements
and establish international partnership
networks. Plus the technological innovation
pursued in this context has enabled GEWISS
to compete at an international level and
become a global economic player. Today,
GEWISS is an international Group with
approximately 1,500 employees, operating
in 80 countries across the globe with 6
production sites (3 in Italy, 1 in Germany,
1 in Portugal and 1 in France), 8 trading/
service companies (UK, Spain, Turkey,
Russia, Romania, Chile, the United Arab
Emirates and China) and a central logistics
hub in Italy (Calcinate, Bergamo) from
where it manages shipments throughout
Europe. Its development actions on an
international scale are steered by a work
method based on objectives rather than
directives. Its approach to innovation, and
values of fairness, transparency and respect
for the environment, that have always
been the driving force behind GEWISS’
strategies, are reflected in each subsidiary
and production site of the Group, ensuring
products and services of an outstanding
quality for an international clientèle.
The present-day network of the GEWISS
Group is the result of this philosophy
and of an acquisition and development
campaign over the last decade. This
acquisition campaign first set its sights on
European companies that were leaders in

their industry, followed by Turkey, Russia,
Romania, China, Chile and the United Arab
Emirates.
GEWISS focuses in particular on the new,
extended Europe, the Mediterranean, Africa,
Latin America, the Far East and the Persian
Gulf. In fact the impact of foreign sales over
national sales is continuing to rise, in line
with strategic management objectives. The
company’s goal is to continue to develop
products and systems for the entire world,
consolidating its presence in Italy and on
mature markets, whilst also expanding in
emerging economies.

the history
GEWISS’ history is a great entrepreneurial story of many successes achieved over four
decades.
THE ORIGINS
GEWISS came about from a brilliant idea for a product: the use of technopolymer in
electrical systems. This was a revolutionary application for the entire sector, immediately
giving the company a leading edge in the electrotechnical industry. Over this decade, the
plant at Cenate Sopra (Bergamo) was inaugurated and the company became a Società
per Azioni (Company Limited by Shares).
DEVELOPMENT
The 1980’s were characterised by further insight: for the first time, coloured lighting
devices were introduced and became furnishing items. Products sold became increasingly
a complete range for domestic, commercial and industrial sectors. With the consolidation
of its sales network, GEWISS changed from a product-oriented to a market-oriented
company. In just ten years, its revenue increased ten-fold.
INTERNATIONALISATION
In the 1990’s, the technological and production site at Cenate Sotto (Bergamo) was
inaugurated, speeding up the internationalisation process. After subsidiaries were opened
in Spain and Germany, the European industry-leaders NOWAPLAST, SCHUPA and MAVIL
were acquired, forming the origins of the GEWISS Group.
THE NEW MILLENNIUM
In early 2000, the new Logistics/Technological Site at Calcinate (Bergamo) was inaugurated,
to provide coverage throughout central Europe. The product range offer increased in this
period to 20,000 items and Chorus - the international domotics system – was launched.
The Group consolidated its industrial sites and trading/service subsidiaries in Italy, France,
Germany, the UK, Spain, Portugal, China, Russia, Turkey, Romania, Chile and the United
Arab Emirates, along with agencies in more than 80 nations worldwide.

Innovative solutions
Innovative solutions
Innovation has always been a driving force for GEWISS.
This means it develops new solutions that can improve
the quality of life.
I
nnovation and invention are often mixed
up or confused, but they actually have very
different meanings: invention is related to
an idea (“inventors turn ideas into reality”),
innovation is related to practice. In fact
innovating means more than anything else
turning problems into solutions. So innovating
does not mean inventing something new
at all costs. It means changing and tapping
into available knowledge. Innovation is often
possible by simply adapting something:
a product, a process... However, to make
real progress, innovation must not be an
end in itself, as this would turn it into a
merely technological action or a pioneering
approach.
Innovation must be closely linked to the
concept of “value”, and namely the
usefulness, benefits and costs it generates for
customers on the one hand and for companies
on the other. A company innovates when
its products or services can help solve the
problems of its users with new solutions and
improve their quality of life.
GEWISS’ commitment to innovation is
renewed each year, with solutions and
market services designed to make the
working life of all industry professionals
easier. Only GEWISS can offer this, thanks to
a company philosophy with development at
the very heart of its operations and continual
investments in new technologies-factors
which have made GEWISS such a distinctive
brand, and synonymous with safety, design
and practicality.
GEWISS has always focused on improving the
quality and safety of its systems: innovation is
the strategy it has chosen, proposing solutions
that meet the needs of the market and
anticipate its requests. Thanks to operative
support from the Research & Development
Department, and considerable investments
made in the last ten years (140 million euros),
GEWISS has been able to expand its product
range to create an integrated electrical
system.
THE RANGE
GEWISS solutions are fully optional, with
more than 20,000 products for domotics,
energy and lighting to meet all needs of the
residential, industrial and commercial sectors
in the electrotechnical market. Besides
home & building automation systems and
video communication systems, the GEWISS
product range includes energy distribution
and protection systems, as well as systems
for urban, residential, street, industrial and
emergency lighting.
DOMOTICS
Domotics systems offer cutting-edge
solutions for home and building management
and control. The true strength of all systems

and building systems lies in integration of
all the systems of the building. The control
and integrated, coordinated management of
systems means that information and operating
status can be exchanged among systems and
therefore building/system performance can
be improved considerably, in terms of energy
saving, comfort and safety.
In particular, Chorus improves everyday
life, combining design with sophisticated
functions for a smart home system. With
Chorus, system functions can be supervised
and managed either locally by user interfaces
or remotely via the Internet or simple text
messages. The shapes, lines and materials of
Chorus attractively bring together all products
of different solutions. The plates are available
in six different shapes (ONE, GEO, LUX, ART,
FLAT and ICE), in a variety of colours and
with hardwearing, exclusive, state-of-the-art
materials, along with components in three
different finishes and colours (white, black
and titanium) for a fully comprehensive range
of design solutions that are perfect for all
contexts.

LIGHTING
GEWISS’ flair for innovation and ongoing
commitment to experimenting new materials
and technologies are reflected in the continual
modernisation of its solutions for the lighting
industry.
A global vision of lighting technology
concepts and a style echoing the unmistakable
principles of Italian design represent
the most intimate and deepest
dimension of GEWISS lighting solutions.
This perfect chemistry has allowed GEWISS to
become a global partner in creating lighting
systems designed for every room, every space
and every location.
In fact GEWISS products are perfect for

INNOVATION
GEWISS’ flair for innovation is reflected
in the high quality standards guaranteed
to customers and users of its systems
developed over the years. The Research and
Development Department develops and
consolidates technical product expertise, with
a strategic positioning between the market
and production technologies.
The operating structure of the Department
is based on Product Divisions (specialised by
product type: Domo, Din, Energy and Light)
and encompasses Product Research/Definition
and Design Services. The market support units
come under Product Management, which
is also responsible for Training, Professional
Activities and Product Software.
The central staff unit includes the Laboratory
and Product Quality functions, the Standards,
Trademarks and Patents function and service
functions (Configuration, Packaging and
Planning).
PRODUCT QUALITY
AND THE LABORATORY
GEWISS devises and develops each process
and product so that they achieve the highest
standards of quality for product solutions. This
daily mission has also been acknowledged
by IMQ (the Italian Institute for the Quality
Mark), which certifies the conformity of
company processes and products to standards
and has awarded GEWISS laboratories
SMT certification (Supervised Manufacturer
Testing).
The GEWISS laboratory conducts electrical
safety, electromagnetic compatibility, noise,
vibration and climatic testing. These tests
allow it to verify the conformity of machines
and equipment to CEI standards and main
product directives, evaluating operating
performance in different temperature and
humidity conditions. Besides conventional
laboratory tests, experimental tests are
also conducted simulating the behaviour
of electrical devices in normal operating
conditions. These analyses and measurements

are carried out during each stage of the
product life cycle, from materials’ acceptance
to design and production.
Thanks to accreditation from SMT (Supervised
Manufacturer Testing) and ACAE (Association
for the Certification of Electrical Equipment),
and KNX Interworking and Functionality tests
issued by the KNX association (to develop and
certify KNX products for the automation of
residential and industrial electrical systems),
the GEWISS laboratory can directly conduct
tests for KNX certification, supervised by IMQ
(for Notification of Test Results certificates) or
by ACAE (for ACAE/LOVAG certificates), with
a consequent reduction in type approval and
development times.
The Product Quality department is tasked
in particular with ensuring the conformity
of products, raw materials, suppliers and
the entire production chain in compliance
with the high quality standards required by
GEWISS.
STANDARDS, QUALITY MARKS
AND PATENTS
The main purpose of this function is to
guarantee product certification in the case
of self-certification and certification by
independent parties. To this end, public and
private national organisations are contacted
that issue the certification necessary to
guarantee the safety of products and their

Lighting becomes sustainable:
Smart [4] is the new device from GEWISS, designed
to offer sustainable light in a wide variety of contexts
where good lighting is a priority.
In recent decades, there has been a notable
increase in pollution and energy consumption.
The commitments to reducing consumption and
emission levels (the 20/20/20 climate and energy
package passed by the European Community and
laid out in Directive 2009/29/EC) relate to lighting
too. The aim is to produce optimised lighting
systems, with the light efficiently produced
and effectively used.
This encourages the use of energy-saving sources
and, at the same time, favours the production and
use of lighting devices that exploit the primary
flux in the most efficient way possible. In other
words, to produce ergonomic lighting that offers
good performance and visual comfort, it’s not
enough just to use high-efficiency sources.
The flux must be directed and shared out to create
a bright environment that’s compatible with the
physical and psychic needs of people’s sight.
Taking this as a starting point, Gewiss set itself
the aim of designing and producing lighting tools
that are not only efficient but also effective, to be
used in first class systems.
In this regard, the most recent technical writings
(CIE TR 205/213) focus on the qualitative
aspects of indoor lighting: LED lighting cannot
be evaluated solely on the basis of quantitative
parameters because the visual comfort aspect
plays a fundamental role in work environments
(direct glare, colour consistency and yield,
flickering, luminance ratios, the perception of
space, modelling, etc.). This means that average
illumination and uniformity are not sufficient for
defining the performance of an indoor lighting
system.
1.
THE GEWISS SMART [4]
SYSTEM
To meet the demand for reduced energy consumption
and light pollution, GEWISS is launching a range
of products that, by fully exploiting the particular
features of LED technology, ensure the maximum
energy savings and the best visual comfort, even
for the most complex visual tasks.
These new devices are designed and produced first
and foremost for the adjustment and renewal
of existing systems: multiform, rational and
sustainable, Smart [4] can be a floodlight or a ceiling
light as needed, offering different performance levels
for different contexts. The practicality of the device
guarantees maximum lighting performance in
any area of application, from industrial to sports
environments, indoor or outdoor. And that’s not
all. The horizontal and vertical modularity of this
product is combined with its easy installation and
maintenance, with the use of “green” materials and
the unmistakable “Made in Italy” style.
From the first glance, the Smart [4] system is clearly
minimalist. The design aim was to emphasise the
typical characteristics of LED sources: lightweight,
small, practical and robust. These features were
transferred to the end product, providing it with
unequalled performance levels.
The system consists of a LED module equipped
with the latest power LEDs and a series of specific
optical systems (high bay, high bay + lens, lens) to
optimise the use of the light flux for each particular
type of use.
Its modular construction means you can configure
the most suitable device for each application:
the result is absolute design flexibility, with the
ultimate aim of creating specific, effective lighting
whilst maximising energy savings and minimising
maintenance (50-80% compared with conventional
solutions).
To produce ergonomic lighting
the flux must be directed and
shared out to create a bright
environment that’s compatible
with the physical and psychic
needs of people’s sight
14

SMART [4]
2.
THE TECHNOLOGY
The use of power LEDs with high colour performance,
high efficiency optical systems (high bays and lenses)
and the availability of multiple configurations
make the Smart [4] system an ideal instrument for
minimising costs (for operation and maintenance)
and maximising lighting performance. With the
precise aim of obtaining a better yield and more
accurate light flux control, GEWISS has decided to
use a secondary optic consisting of a high bay and
lens. The high bay is made of Makrolon PC, metallised
by means of evaporation in a vacuum chamber. The
secondary lens (diffuser) is made of plexiglass.
All the devices of the Smart [4] range are equipped
with power LED motors available with 3000K and
4000K colour temperatures with high lighting
efficiency, low flux decline, a long lifespan and
excellent colour performance, and assembled on a
metal core PCB.
3.
THE RANGE
The Smart [4] range has two lines:
• Smart [4] LB|HB: ceiling-mounting luminaire:
technopolymer frame; die-cast aluminium
dissipator with a low copper content; galvanised
iron fixing plate; fixing spring in pre-stressed steel
wire; IP66 and IK08 degree of protection; Glow

Each line contains a series of models that can be
supplied in differing versions according to the flux,
photometric characteristics and management/
control type. The production processes and materials
used all meet the most recent environmental
sustainability requisites (rationalisation of
resources and minimised environmental impact). The
entire range is purposely designed and developed to
ensure simplified installation and easy retrofit on
existing systems.
4.

EXPO 2015
GEWISS looks beyond the present, to establish the stimulus and
energy needed to define its development and growth. The present
for GEWISS is now being shaped by EXPO 2015, where GEWISS is
an official sponsor and the main partner of Padiglione Italia.
G
EWISS will be the official sponsor
of EXPO Milano 2015 and the main
partner of Padiglione Italia. In keeping
with the theme of the event, “Feeding the
planet. Energy for life”, GEWISS will offer its
know-how and experience in providing solutions
for the architectural space of Padiglione Italia
and EXPO 2015.
As explained by Mr. Domenico Bosatelli,
President of GEWISS, during the press
conference held in April, “GEWISS has chosen to
play a leading role in the most important event
of 2015 which will enhance in being “Italians”
and “made in Italy” all over the world. This is
a very important opportunity to promote the
values that distinguish our country: art, taste for
beauty, richness and variety of our country, but
also the social aspects and the spirit of being
“Italians”. The event offers an opportunity to
express architecture at its highest level: we are
convinced that this is an unique opportunity to
present the most advanced system solutions in
the world, as well as to promote our brand and
our products in the context of Italian excellence.
Innovation and environment has always played
an important part of our economic and social
choices. For this reason, we have decided to
take part in this prestige international showcase
that has as its primary purpose to educate
the public and celebrate innovation as a tool
made available to our contemporary society by
meeting the needs of the world’s population,
and still respecting the environment. As always,
GEWISS has invested in the development of
the most advanced solutions for home and
building automation, safety and lighting in
residential, industrial and tertiary. Hence, we
have supplied to the EXPO and the Padiglione
Italia our products, which allow all of us to live
in much safer and much more comfortable
buildings. GEWISS’ commitment and investment
for this project is a total of three million Euros.
Nevertheless the value of our collaboration will
surely be much more ambitious, in terms of future
projects and opportunities. We are convinced
that this important financial commitment will
bring prestige and light in the world and to the
universal event as well as our products and our
Company. “I’m very delighted that a company
which is an honour to Italy and the world has
decided to dedicate itself with our Padiglione
and more in general with Expo 2015”, stated by
Cav. Lav. Diana Bracco, President and General
Commissioner for the Padiglione Italia. “This
partnership with GEWISS gives demonstration
of the appeal of our project, which enhances
the excellence of our Country and keeps alive
the Italian cultural heritage, projecting them into
the future”.

It is sustainable, technological, multi thematic
and focused on its visitors. Open from May 1
to October 31, 2015, the EXPO will host 147
participants. Running for 184 days, this giant
exhibition site, covering one million square
meters, is expected to welcome over 20 million
visitors.
Ever since the first edition in 1851 in The
Crystal Palace of London, the Universal
Exposition has been the perfect stage to show
off the most ambitious successes that man has
achieved over time. It is an occasion to share
technologies, innovation and discoveries. It is
also a moment to bring to life architectural
projects or artistic movements, and a place
where landscapes became cultural symbols of
that time, like the Eiffel tower which was built
in Paris when the city hosted the Exposition in
1889.
The Universal Exposition is a non-commercial
exhibition. A platform that focuses on giving
the people, countries and institutions the
opportunity to have an international dialogue

on hot global topics that are of interest to all.
Since the very beginning this was the place
to present creativity and knowledge and
where every country had the possibility to
demonstrate what it could offer to the world
at that specific moment.
EXPO Milano 2015 central theme will be
“Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The
event will talk about the problems of nutrition
and the resources of our planet. The idea is
to open up a dialogue between international
players to exchange views on these major
challenges which are relevant to everyone.
Is it possible to guarantee water and food for
the entire world population? Is it possible to
increase food security? Is it possible to have
new solutions that take into account the
planet’s biodiversity? The aim is not to provide
only one-way solutions but to pose questions
and offer visitors the tools for finding their
own answers.
A real challenge that involves all the participants,
including visitors which have the possibility to
take a trip around the world, sampling the
food and traditions of people from all over the
globe. A trip that raises questions on how our
actions today will impact the next generation.
EXPO Milano 2015 will be the first Exposition
in history to be remembered not only for its
products but also for its contribution towards
education on food and the planet’s precious
resources.
PADIGLIONE ITALIA
The Italian participation at EXPO 2015 is
organized in the Cardo Street area, one of
the two main streets part of the grid of the
master-plan of EXPO Milano 2015.
The Cardo St. is the place where visitors can
live a highly qualifying experience, thanks
to a series of innovative, different and
public spaces through themes and cultural
entertainment.
The environments and open spaces which
overlook the axis of the Cardo St. host
a variety of exhibitions and institutional
activities that represent the Italian variety and
richness of its lands, its territories, its local
institutions and businesses, its landscapes, its
products and its cultures.
On the northwest side of the Cardo St.
there is Palazzo Italia, the symbolic heart
of the whole project, designed to last even
after the EXPO as a center of technological
innovation at the service of the city. The
general concept of Palazzo Italia is that of
a nursery, an architectural landscape where
the building becomes, through its skin and
volumetric articulation, a forest tree where
visitors can immerse themselves and live an
emotional experience. Palazzo Italia is in its
way a “Natural Architecture”, in which poetic
design merge together with technological
experimentation, creating a spectacular and
sustainable body.

GEWISS assists professionals in their work and business,
thanks to IT tools, training courses, technical customer-services
and communication events that promote a culture
of a highly-developed system.
T
rust is a fundamental factor in the
relationship between a company
and its customers. It comes from an
absolutely basic requirement: the product
quality. In fact, without quality it’s not
possible to build any kind of relationship or
trust with buyers. But a quality product is not
just enough to gain and maintain trust. It is
necessary to combine also an accurate 360°
support service, able to guide the buyer in
every stage of the relationship. In a word,
it’s necessary to pay close attention to the
customer.
GEWISS has always embraced this customer
care philosophy. Beside a high product
quality offer, GEWISS provides several
services able to improve and increase the
professional skills of its customers and to
promote their business development. These
services rise from the belief that the creation
and the maintaining of a direct relation with
customers is at the basis of mutual success.
The promotion of a culture of a highlydeveloped system is one of the possible ways
to achieve this goal: through conferences on
current issues concerning electrotechnical
matters, normative and legal updates and
technical product information on new system
technologies, GEWISS supports professionals
and raises the awareness about the need to
adopt up-to-date system solutions.
To spread the knowledge in order to
improve customer’s quality: this is the ratio
of the offered service. Through several tools,
both publications and training courses,
GEWISS assists professionals in their skills
development, giving them the possibility to
gain the necessary theoretical knowledge
and to test directly the most advanced
system technologies.
MARKETING AND
COMMUNICATION ACTIVITIES
Listening to end users to anticipate their
needs and desires; working alongside
industry professionals to increase market
possibilities; promoting a new culture of
systems, to help make domotics even better
known. These are the drivers behind GEWISS’
communication strategy.
The consumer website GEWISS.COM went
live in 2013. It’s dedicated to the home, to
the new technologies and languages that
are changing the contemporary domestic
landscape and the very concept of living.
With a clear and interesting written content
and an evocative and appealing visual style,
the GEWISS site brings Internet users closer
to the world of domotics and new system

Ethics and the environment
GEWISS’s actions respect human capital, the natural and social
environment. The ethical dimension of the company is focussed
on identifying virtuous conduct that creates a competitive edge
and is a hallmark of its success.
C
orporate social responsibilit y
represents a fundamental building
block to achieve a sustainable
development. For this reason, GEWISS aligns
its own choices and behaviors committing
itself to the conservation of human capital,
the environment and the community.
People are key assets in playing a fundamental
role in the company’s success. Improving
professional skills and encouraging active
participation and respect for human rights
are essential prerequisites for company
objectives to be achieved.
QUALITY, SAFETY
AND ENVIRONMENT POLICY
For many years, environment has been at
the top of the socio-economic choices of
GEWISS. The voluntary implementation of an
Environmental Management System in the
Italian production plants which meets the
standard ISO 14001 is significant evidence
of the company’s commitment to ensuring
that environmental protection goes hand
in hand with industrial growth. To go on
with the development of an eco-sustainable
business model, the company focuses on an
efficient consumption of energy resources
and materials, the prevention of pollution, a
reduction of emissions, the development of
safe working processes and environments
and a rigorous respect of laws.
In particular, GEWISS considers human
resources as being vital to its businesses
success and as a decisive factor in guaranteeing
constant innovation and development. Staff
involvement has always been a strength in
achieving company objectives.
Personnel training on environmental
protection and occupational health and
safety is essential for developing knowledge,
operating capability and an awareness of the
environmental impact operations can have
and for adopting safe conduct.
Activities for preventing environmental
impact have required a huge investment in
resources and considerable organisational
work, but have enabled industrial processes
and products to be developed that are
increasingly innovative and environmentally
friendly.
Some of the main objectives pursued by
GEWISS in 2011-2012-2013 include:
•a thorough analysis of the environmental
aspects of its products, following the
market request for information on the
presence of particular substances in the
components and raw materials used in
GEWISS products;

personnel to adopt safe conduct;
•the optimisation of energy use, through
the careful management and technological
improvement of production and service
systems.
In order to directly engage its public, GEWISS
regularly publishes its own Environmental
Report on a voluntary basis, which describes
the main relations between the company and
the environment.
This choice reflects once again the
company’s intention of giving visibility to its
environmental results, with the maximum
transparency for its personnel, shareholders,
customers and suppliers, and in general for
all parties concerned.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
GEWISS’ waste management policy focuses
on preventing the production of waste at
source, investing considerably in the recovery
and recycling of materials and the proper
disposal of waste which cannot be recycled.
Personnel awareness, the use of modern and
efficient waste collection systems at industrial
sites, the definition of waste management
operating procedures, the involvement of
specialist waste collection companies and
numerous other initiatives have made it
possible to improve waste production over
time, in terms of quality and quantity.
GEWISS has been a member of recycling
consortiums for many years, which manage
waste from packaging materials and electrical
and electronic equipment at the end of their
working life.
USE OF ENERGY SOURCES
GEWISS promotes the sensible use of
available resources through careful and
optimized management of energy sources
for its production cycles and the definition of
energy saving objectives.
ATMOSPHERIC EMISSIONS
The results of measurements are referred to
the most stringent limits established by current
legislation or by specific authorizations, and
are extensively under control, with maximum
concentrations well below legal limits.

solutions for energy saving
GEWISS’ attention to the environment is reflected also in its product range which allows
the users to drastically cut down costs of the electrical system. Whether in the homes or at
the offices, industrial environments or public areas, GEWISS offers a wide range of devices
which improve the energy efficiency and, at the same time, guarantee the excellence of
the performance as to functions and safety.
HOME & BUILDING AUTOMATION.
Thanks to the Chorus domotics system, the house can be managed in a smart way through
the automation among all the main functions (climate, lighting, motorized systems), by
encouraging the users to use consciously energy and therefore allowing them to have
important energy, gas and water savings (up to 40% savings in case of an electrical
system belonging to the A energy efficiency class).
For example, to considerably reduce the home energy consumption and, consequently, the
relevant bills, the Chorus thermostats can be installed. They allow the user to set different
home temperatures according to the use in the different parts of the day or to heat/cool
only some rooms. Thanks to special twilight and presence sensors placed in every room,
the lights switching-on and off can be automated according to the presence of people or
to quantity of natural light coming from the outside. Moreover, some magnetic contacts
can be installed on the windows: they can dialogue with the climate control devices, by
operating onheating/air conditioning and avoiding any waste.
LIGHTING SYSTEMS.
Also the urban, street and industrial lighting systems have been designed to considerably
reduce the energy consumption: the LED and Cosmopolis sources allow the public
administrations to save energy and consequently money and bring to lower carbon
dioxide emissions. Moreover, the LEDs do not contain mercury and the operations for
their disposal are simplified.

T
echnological development and the
economic performance of industrial
companies have led in recent years a
process of transformation in the organizational
and cultural model of enterprises. Work
practices and knowledges have been
redefined by technological development
and global competition, involving new and
different skills.
The development of human resources is
therefore a key element for a company: it is
one of the most strategic indicators for success
in a market that is becoming, day by day,
hugely competitive and where innovation,
flexibility, determination, responsibility,
personal initiative and team spirit are required.
For this reason, in 2013 GEWISS has redefined
the governance in order to face the changes
in progress and to identify the appropriate
themes, languages and methodologies.
GEWISS PEOPLE
GEWISS is one of the strongest companies
in terms of results, environment and safety,
