Vander Haag’s offers full diesel repair with the experience of
Jerry McFarlin, Ryan McFarlin, Orville LaBuda and David Stangle.
JERRY MCFARLIN has been in truck and trailer repair since 1992. After working at Monon Trailer &
HPA Mono Trailer for 6 years learning trailer repair and maintenance, he began working for Jeff Rife in
2004. He worked with Butch LaBuda for 6 years learning transmission and rear-end repair and helping
with shop operation when needed until he moved into his current position in 2014.
RYAN MCFARLIN started part time after school in 2008. He was hired full time in Nov. 2011.
Working under Jerry, Ryan learned to diagnose and repair driveline issues. Working under Butch he
learned how to repair transmissions and rear-ends. He has been in the gear shop for the last 2.5 years
repairing rear-ends and transmissions.
ORVILLE LABUDA began working on trucks right out of high school in 1998. He started for J.B. Rife
as a mechanic, moving on to Smith Transport from 2003 to 2014 as a mechanic. During the last 7
years at Smith Transport, Orville started rebuilding engines (Detroit, Cat, Mercedes and Cummins.) He
joined the Vander Haag’s team in Jan. 2016 and is certified in A/C systems.
DAVID STANGLE started working on trucks on the farm with his dad. He attended college to learn
diesel engines, and upon graduating from the University of Northwestern Ohio in 1997, he opened his
own shop, working on trucks and engines. He joined Vander Haag’s in June 2015.
