PETRA TOU ROMIOU
Petra tou Romiou , also known as Aphrodite's Rock is a
sea stack in Pafos, Cyprus. The combination of the beauty of the area
and its status in mythology as the birthplace of Aphrodite makes it a
popular tourist location.
CORAL BAY
CORAL BAY is one of the best
sandy beaches of the region, it is
located in Pegeia – Coral Bay,
easily reached by car, motorbike,
bicycle and bus. Water sports, sun
bed and umbrella hire are
available on site.
PAFOS LARA
Situated in the last wilderness spot in Cyprus, in the Akamas Peninsula, Lara
Bay is the nesting ground of the Green Back Turtle. Soft sand is in abundance
in a bay that has the shape of a horseshoe.
BLUE LAGOON
Blue lagoon is the most popular place of
Akamas and thousands of people have visited
it by boat. The crystal blue waters in this small
bay are so clear, you can see all the way to the
underlying sea bed. The water in this area of
the Akamas Peninsula is so inviting and
refreshing you will want to swim in this
beautiful environment or go snorkeling and
look around you underwater for metres on
end.
PISSOURI BEACH
The beach is not an overdeveloped resort, as
similar areas on Cyprus have become during the
same two decades, but like Pissouri village, it
has retained a Cypriot atmosphere. The beach
itself is clean, safe, partly sandy and partly
shingle, and there are some water sports
available in the summer.
CAVO GRECO
Cape Greco, also known as Cavo Greco is at
the southern end of Famagusta Bay and forms
part of Ayia Napa Municipality.
It lies between the towns of Ayia Napa and
Protaras . It is frequently visited by many
tourists for its natural beauty. From the high
points on the cliff that rests at the cape one
can view amazing sights out to sea.
Cape Greco is a National Forest Park with
unique flora and fauna.
KAMARA TOU KORAKA
Kamara in English means arch, and this
arch is situated at Cape Greko on the
south-eastern tip of the island. It has a
height span of 50 feet and is 23 feet
wide, located along the small road in to
the cape.
NISSI BEACH
Nissi beach, is a well-known sandy beach in the resort of Ayia
Napa, Cyprus. Nissi Bay Beach Bar is very popular with locals and
tourists alike, playing music throughout the day and organizing
events such as foam parties & catwalks with guest DJs. Water sports
such as water-skiing,windsurfing and pedal boating are available.
FIG TREE BAY
Fig Tree Bay is the most popular beach in Protaras. Its name is derived
from a fig tree that stands alone close to the beach. Golden sands and a
buzzing day life and an even more frantic night life is the name of the
game due to the many restaurants, bars, discos and cafes close by.
LARNACA SALT LAKE
Larnaka Salt Lake is a unique area of
natural beauty and an important
habitat. The lake is at its best, offering
magical settings, during the winter
months when it fills up with rain
water and welcomes thousands of
stunning migratory birds including
flamingos, swans and wild ducks
which find refuge in winter on their
migratory journeys; making it an
ideal set for amazing photograph
shots as well as walking trails.
PHINIKOUDES BEACH
Lined with tall mature palm trees
Phinikoudes Beach is the beach to be in
the summer. With a tropical
environment and a whole assortment of
activities and entertainment the day will
just fly by.
AGIOS GEORGIOS ALAMANOU
BEACH
Not far from Limassol, you reach the beach
from the exit of Pentakomo. The monastery
close by is dedicated to Saint George (Saint in
the Greek language is ‘Agios’, hence the name
of the beach). It is a small quiet beach with
grassy areas and a waterfront restaurant. The
rocks there offer a great opportunity for
snorkeling.

HIGHLAND CYPRUS
AKAMAS PENINSULA
The Akamas National Park lies on the west
coast of Cyprus, a truly pictorial part of the
island. It has an area coverage of 230 square
kilometres containing valleys, gorges and
wide sandy bays. The wildlife diversity is
crucial for the ecology in the Mediterranean.
In this spectacular environment there are
168 varieties of birds, 20 different reptiles,
16 species of butterfly and 12 different
mammals not to mention its very rich
variety of fauna. The important significance
of the Akamas Peninsula has been duly
noted; The European Council has included it
in its Mediterranean Protection Programme.
The Cyprus Government has yet to fully
declare it as a National Park for tourist and
local landowners reasons, although friends
of the Earth and Green Peace are lobbying
hard for it.
AVAKAS GORGE
Found on the western tip of the Akamas
Peninsula, this impressive gorge lies
approximately 18 kilometres from the coastal
town of Paphos.. Deep inside the gorge you
will encounter rare plants and flowers, reptiles,
immense cliffs and even wild mountain goats.
BATHS OF APHRODITE
Situated about 18 miles from the coastal town
of Paphos, the natural cavern here features a
caved shallow pool encompassed by ferns and
a large fig tree which caters for the shade. A
natural spring supplies the water to the pool.
According to the myth, Aphrodite would bathe
in this pool and is where she first met her great
love- Adonis. The waters here are said to hold
special rejuvenating powers.
TROODOS
The Troodos National Forest Park
covers an area of 9,147 hectares
around Mount Olympus. The highest
point is Chionistra (1,952 m) and the
lowest is Moni forest (700m). It is an
area of great natural beauty, suitable
for activities such as hiking, winter
skiing, biking, nature study, camping
and picnics.The area is renowned for
its rich flora and fauna. It is home to
750 species of plants, 12 of which are
indigenous within the park. Park
animal life is protected.
KALHDONIA
Waterfall Kallidonia: Located in Platres village
in Troodos. It is one of the most beautiful
waterfalls of Cyprus. Its height is about 13
meters. Surrounded by trees in a magnificent
region. It was named by the Scots when they
came to Cyprus in 1878 and remembered
their homeland Scotland formerly known
Kallidonia.
CEDAR VALLEY
The Cedar Valley is located on the southern slope of the Paphos
forest. It is a beautiful valley with thousands of towering trees. It
is unique in the world.
STAVROS
THS PSOKAS
The State forest of Pafos occupies the
north-western slopes of the Troodos
mountain massif. It is a natural forest that
revitalized
itself
without
human
intervention. Throughout the forest
prevails the pine trees and locally we
encounter platanoys, sklidrous, cedar and
a variety of plants of more than 600
species. The Paphos forest has declared a
Gaming Restricted Area and is a perfect
refuge for wildlife. The Cypriot Mouflon,
the largest endemic mammal of Cyprus,
lives and reproduce only in this forest.
‘Stavros tis Psokas’ forestry station is the
Central Administration of the forest as well
as enclosed space for mouflons.
WINE ROADS
Cyprus is proud for the tradition and history of
its wine-making. That is why the Cyprus
Tourist Organisation has organized and
designated six wine routes in Limassol and
Paphos districts where visitors can see the
vines and vineyards, admire the various natural
landscapes, and enjoy the local production and
get acquainted with the island’s enchanting and
humble wineries.
