The RS Series Redundant
Switchover units allow one offline converter to provide backup
redundancy for up to four on-line
converters. This expandable
system can be used for up or
down converter systems.
The RS Series switches from
VertexRSI are a versatile automatic
control system that switches IF
signals and RF signals to a spare
upconverter or downconverter in the
event of a primary converter failure.
The switches are based around a
1.75 inch slide mounted drawer
designed to fit conveniently into a
standard EIA rack or cabinet.
Variations of the standard RS-001
(1:1 Switch) include the dual 1:1
Switch which contains two separate
1:1 systems in the same 1.75 inch
high enclosure. This is particularly
useful in a transportable application
where space and power are limited.
The RS-002 (1:2 Switch), also
enclosed in a 1.75 inch chassis,
can be expanded at a later time by
adding the 1:4 Switch Expander.
This approach adds flexibility to
the end user by upgrading the
system when necessary.
