with Jeremy’s and borrowed it for the evening.
Sir Jeremy Bell is a Failed Accountant, Toast
Master, and an Admiral in the Alabama Navy
(see his website www.maninaskirt.com for the
explanation). An extraordinary comedian, he has
toasted many high profile people like Clint
Eastwood and Rudi Guiliani. He certainly kept
everyone laughing as he made his toasts while
the crowd raised their scotches in sync.
Jeremy just happened to have an extra kilt with
him as Illustrious Potentate, Stephen G.
Eriksen, put it on for the festivities. Illustrious
Eriksen then succeeded in “sabering” the cork off
a champagne bottle, after Jeremy’s bottle ‘popped’
prematurely while showing how it’s done.
There was even another kilt for Steve DeOssie,
who MC’d the auction for the evening.
The bidding for the auction items was competitive, which is only helped by DeOssie’s enthusiasm as he made his way down the list of items.
As the guests left, they spoke of what a blast
they had and of next year, how they will return
and with more people! They left wondering what
the next one will be like and how it could possibly
be better.
Next year will, of course, be another success.
A special thanks to Chet Paris, Steve Strauss,
and all who donated items, for their unmeasurable help in making this event such a roaring success.
