TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE
PACS will pick up individuals for transportation to
HCC for The Career Workshop on Wednesday, May
12. Pick up begins at 11:30 a.m. and occurs every 30
minutes until 4 p.m. Drop off will continue until 5
p.m. with the last vehicle leaving the HCC at 5 p.m.
Pick up and drop off stops:
• JSMC Center at High St. Park
• First Baptist Church, parking next to steeple tower
• Second Baptist Church, parking facing 7th by
playground
• Aaron McNeil Center – parking on E. 2nd St.
• Walnut St. Center Boys & Girls Club, by the
Police Substation and stadium
• Hopkinsville Community College Auditorium,
parking
• Speak with local and regional employers to find out
what they look for when hiring employees
• Meet college representatives to learn about the edu•
cational programs available and ways to fund your
education
Attend breakout sessions on topics including:
- Why Work?
- Mastering the Job Search
- What do Employers Look For in Workers?
- The Best You: Positive Work Habits,
Attitudes, and Behaviors
• Talk to a counselor about your educational goals and
objectives

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
is a program organized by
the City of Hopkinsville, Hopkinsville Community
College, and Western Kentucky Workforce
Investment Board designed to offer FREE and low
cost education and job training to inner-city residents
that are currently unemployed or under-employed.
Hopkinsville Community College will offer classes
and training in various fields that will prepare innercity residents to obtain high-wage, high-demand jobs.

the earning potential in the career fields that
may offer training in.

• Homebuilder / Contractor
• Average salary $21.87 an hour or about $842 a week
Manufacturing
• Maintenance Technician
• Quality Control Operator
• Machine Operator
• Welder
• Automation Technician
• Average weekly salary for production workers in
machinery manufacturing is $760
participants will have many
career training options. Some programs take a few
months to complete, while others may take several
years. HCC will offer most of the classes for FREE.
