Hello all, Happy National Coin Week! Each year, the American Numismatic Association celebrates our hobby by sponsoring events and trivia challenges to raise awareness of numismatics among our non-collecting brethren, as well as giving those of us already in the know an excuse to celebrate. The theme this year is “Black Diamond Shines Again”, celebrating the 100th anniversary of the popular “Buffalo” Nickel. The Lincoln Cent hit the 100 mark a few years ago, and like that coin, the current year’s honoree was the starting point for many a collector. Be sure to check the ANA’s National Coin Week Website at www.money.org/numismatic-events/national-coin-week.aspx for more information, and for the video clues to this year’s trivia challenge. Also this month, tickets for our coin show raffle will be available to check out. Time is already growing short before our show in June, so be prepared to do a ticket sales blitz. Remember, there are five free tickets with your name on them for every fifty you sell. To help you earn those incentives, you only have to turn in $9 with every book of ten tickets you sell. The 10-for-$9 deal helps to sell them by the book. We sold out of tickets last year, so let’s see if we can do it again. Good luck, my fellow SCCCers! The club's Coin Show is being moved to the fourth weekend in June, 22-23. Last year we were unable to accommodate all the dealers that expressed an interest in the show.
