RENTAL TERMS
All rentals are due in advance, unless prior arrangements are made. This especially applies to monthly and
long term rentals, and your rental invoice will be marked this way. Please pay special attention to this and
make payment on receipt of invoice.
SALES TAX ON RENTAL EQUIPMENT
State sales tax is applicable on equipment rental used for maintenance or repair.
Sales tax on new construction equipment rental is maybe exempt. Let the rental counter person know this
in advance and check the appropriate sales tax exemption certificate box on the rental document.
RENTAL CONVERSION TO PURCHASE OPTION
Rental Equipment may be purchased and rent paid may be applied to the purchase of rental equipment.
Purchase options are not available on all rental equipment.

MEASURING WEAR CHARGES
Husqvarna Ring Saw Diamond Blade
Using a micrometer, measure from the inside of the ring to the outside of the diamond segment.
Repeat this in three random places around the blade. Add the three readings and divide the total
by three. This will give you a "Blade Out" measurement. When the blade is returned, repeat
these steps and subtract this total from the "Blade Out" total. This will be the total amount of
wear to be charged to the customer.
Note: Always measure in the center of the segment.
Concrete Chain Saw
Using a micrometer that is measured in thousands, measure from the top of the segment
to the top of the chain in 3 spots. This will give you blade out, repeat the process when it
returned. The difference between the In and Out measurement is the total use.
Walk Behind and Quickie Saw Diamond Blades
Using the digimatic blade gauge, choose the proper sized arbor and bolt it in the hole marked
with the diameter of the blade to be measured. Mark three arrows on the blade.
Measure the three segments that the arrows point to. Add the three reading and divide the total
by three. This will give you a "Blade Out" measurement. When the blade is returned, repeat
these steps and subtract this total from the "Blade Out" total. This will be the total amount of
wear to be charged to the customer.

Using a rule that is marked in 16ths, measure the carbide tip of the cutter. This should be
recorded and sold in 16ths only. Repeat this when the unit is returned and subtract to get the
total wear amount.

Insurance Surcharge Policy
Your company can save money by providing Star Equipment with the
proper evidence of insurance prior to renting equipment. For
information on insurance see the section below on General Industry
Practices.
If the proper evidence of insurance is not received prior to renting of
equipment - there will be an Insurance Surcharge (ISC) charge of
10%
added to your rental invoice.
This charge covers the added cost of doing
business with companies who do not carry
insurance for our equipment while it is in
their possession.
VERY IMPORTANT
Your company is NOT purchasing insurance!
You can save by having your insurance agent provide
Star Equipment LTD with the proper evidence of
insurance.
Your company is NOT waiving liability!
YOUR COMPANY IS RESPONSIBLE
If the equipment is not maintained properly, stolen,
damage, vandalized, or abused, for all costs incurred
to repair or replace the equipment, including rental
until repair or replacment has been completed.

CUSTOMER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSURANCE COVERAGE
ON ALL RENTAL EQUIPMENT
PROPER HITCHING AND TOWING SPEED IS CUSTOMER’S RESPONSIBILITY
NORMAL MAINTENANCE TO KEEP EQUIPMENT IN OPERATING CONDITION
IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CUSTOMER
On all rented or leased equipment, lessor expressly DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTY, expressed or
implied, statutory, by operation of law or otherwise, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS
FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE with respect to the leased or rented equipment.
All equipment is leased or rented only according to the terms and conditions of our Lease-Rental
agreement.
Lessee is fully responsible for all loss and damage to rented equipment while in his possession, and
agrees to return to lessor in same condition as when rented, ordinary wear and tear excluded.
Lessee is responsible for any loss, damage, expense, or penalty arising from any action or account of
any injury to persons or property of any character whatsoever occasioned by the operation, handling or
transportation of any of the equipment during the rental period. Prior to renting lessee is to provide a
certificate of insurance (CG2010 or equivalent) naming Star Equipment LTD as an Additional Insured for
the following minimums:
• $1,000,000 General Liability
• $1,000,000 Property Damage
• $ 50,000 All Risk Leased or Rental Equipment replacement value.
On cranes and forklifts Star Equipment is to be named as an Additional Insured for the replacement
value of the equipment to include boom coverage. Your rental sales person will provide the amount of
coverage needed to you prior to renting.
All lease or rental equipment remains the personal property of Star Equipment, Ltd.
Rental rates are based on an 8 hour day - 40 hour week - 176 hour month. If equipment use exceeds
these hours, an additional charge will be made. This does not apply to Heater equipment.
Rates in this catalog are all F.O.B. Lessors lot.
Lessor bears the cost of repairs due to normal wear and tear. F.O.B. Lessors yard.
No warranties expressed or implied shall be binding against the seller or lessor unless expressly
incorporated in the rental agreement and made a part thereof. Lessor shall in no event be liable for
consequential loss or damage or for loss or damage resulting from the time lost because of repairs or
resulting from the use of the equipment or resulting from the failure of the equipment, or any parts thereof
or attachments to operate properly.
