Worried about doing something that might hurt your business down the
road? Do you think engaging an attorney would be too costly? Not every
dispute is avoidable, but an ounce of prevention can help reduce legal
risks and costs. Join us on November 19th for this seminar designed to
help you assess your risk and then set protocols to reduce that risk and
the headaches it can create. More.
The new Minnesota tax law significantly affects
taxpayers and their estates by enacting a gift
tax (and thereby joining Connecticut as the only
states to impose a state-level gift tax) and
amending the estate tax and income tax. More.
If you have questions about your tax liability,
contact Bob Abdo, Tom Dougherty or Glenn
Kessel.

Kate Westad recently tried an
underinsured personal injury case in
front of a Dakota County jury and
received a gross verdict of over
$180,000. The injured client’s
insurance company had denied

case to trial. As a result of the
verdict, the injured party is further
allowed to tax costs and charge pre
-judgment and post-judgment
interest as well. Congratulations to
Kate on this verdict. Also check out
Kate’s series of articles titled, “Auto
Insurance: Are You Covered?”
Congratulations to Keith Broady,
Dan Young and Kay Hunt who were
each elected to a two-year term on
the board of directors of Lommen,
Abdo, Cole, King & Stageberg, P.A.
