 Support Boat Requirements
• Must be able to fit the number of people the skipper will be
responsible for
• Vessels >10m – must stay south or north edge of the fleet
(and use a tender to stay in close proximity to the swimmer)
 Finding a Support Boat and Skipper
• Word of mouth
• Advertise on the RCS website within the ‘Forums’ section
• Post notices on Rottnest Channel Swim Facebook / Twitter
sites (@rottoswim)
• Advertise in the local newspaper, the Quokka or on Gumtree
• Boat Hire. A quick web search is the best way to find boat hire
businesses in Perth

2. Registration

 Registrations Open
Registrations for solo, duo and team entries will open online at:
8.00am (WST) on Monday, 12 October 2015
 Registrations Close
Registrations for solo, duo and team entries will be open for one
week only and will close at:
5.30pm (WST) on Sunday, 18 October 2015
Entries
 Solo Entries
Each solo registration will be guaranteed entry if registered and
paid within the registration period.
 Duo and Team Entries
Due to limited places available in the event, duo and team
registrations will be selected from a random ballot that will be
conducted following the close of registrations.
All notifications to successful duo and team entries will be via
email.
3. Solo Qualifying Swim
Intending solo swimmers must have either:
 Completed a Rottnest Channel Swim solo crossing
within the previous two (2) years;
OR
 Must complete a 10km qualifying swim
in 4 hours 15 minutes or less, between
1 November 2015 and 1 February 2016.

4. Briefing
• It is compulsory that all solo swimmers, and a swimmer from
each duo/team attend the briefing.
• It is highly recommended that your support boat skipper also
attends with you, as they are ultimately responsible for your
wellbeing on swim day.
