MUSIC BOOSTER NEWS
As the 2009-2010 school year comes to a close, the Findlay Music
Boosters (FMB) want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has
volunteered in any capacity for or made a contribution to FMB. We
cannot provide the support for our music students without YOU!
I would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the music teachers
and directors for their dedicated efforts this past year to provide another
year of quality music education and opportunities for our students.
In addition, I want to thank the members of the executive committee for
their hard work and commitment to our music students. A special thanks
to Sherri Brumbaugh – Vice President; Bev Marincic – Secretary; Trisha
Bott – Treasurer; Tracy Capes – Membership Secretary; Peggy Grandbois
– Publicity Secretary; Jerry Mathern – Special Services Secretary; Kim
Dunbar – FHS Vocal Representative; Azah Abdulrahim – FHS
Instrumental Representative; and our Middle School Representatives,
Carmen Brown – Donnell; Crystal Whipkey – Central; and Theresa Knopf
– Glenwood. Also thank you to Scott and Michelle McCormick for
managing the concession stands and to Carol Smith and Doug Finney for
coordinating the marching band and concert band uniforms, respectively.
The FMB appreciated the hospitality shown to us by the Donnell Middle
School Music Department. Our April meeting was held at Donnell, where
we were treated to performances by Shockwave Middle School Drumline
and Fusion Show Choir. Thank you to Mrs. Baratta and Mr. Sheehe and
to the music students for sharing your talents with us!
Our new fiscal year begins on May 1. We encourage everyone to become
a financially supporting member of FMB. Please complete the attached
membership form and return it with your contribution. All contributions
received after May 1 will be recognized for the 2010-2011 school year.
Also, please join us at our next meeting at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 3
in the Music Wing at Findlay High School. We will vote on the officers
and work on plans for next year. For more information about FMB,
contact me at [email protected]. Thank you for your support!
Musically yours,
Mark Olson, President

SUPPORT OUR MUSIC
PROGRAM WITH SCRIP
Please remember that the Scrip fundraising
program is a year-round program. Plan to
continue to enjoy the ease of shopping on line
during the summer months while supporting your
child’s music ensemble and the FMB.
Scrip is fundraising while you shop®. The
program allows our music families to purchase
Scrip for everyday expenses like food, clothing,
and entertainment while earning a percentage of
each dollar of Scrip purchased back in revenue.
Scrip is "no-selling" fundraising.
For our program, revenues are shared 50/50
between FMB and participating groups. The
families can decide to use this revenue towards
individual student’s trip accounts, etc. or apply it
to the group’s general fund.
It’s easy to get started. Contact Mark Olson at
[email protected] and he will help you
sign up for this great fundraising project for our
music program.
The FHS Chamber Orchestra
recently performed their spring
program as part of the First
Presbyterian Church Concert
Series.
