International Music Center "Harmony" Activity
The Rostov accordion playing tradition is known by
right as one of the best in the world. During the
several last decades a pleiad of outstanding button
and piano accordion players has grown up. Their
creative activity is an example and an approval of the
unique Rostov accordion playing tradition.
The founders of the tradition are Vyatcheslav
Semionov and his students: Y.Dranga, L. Setrakov, A.
Zaikin, G. Galitsky, M. Zatsepin, G. Osmanyan, Y.
Shishkin, A. Poeluev, ect. who won the most
prestigious international competitions ("Coupe
Mondiale", "Trophee Mondiale", Klingenthal
competition, Castelfidardo competition, ect.)
The great success of the tradition is the result of
commitment activity of the educational institutions of
all levels. The growth of the quality of Russian and
World accordion playing tradition was induced by
this progress.
Rostov - on - Don invites "Coupe
Mondiale" World Accordion Competition in
2016. The idea of holding this competition in
our city as like as the idea of foundation of
International ANO Music Center
"Harmony" belongs to a Rostovite, The
winner of "Coupe Mondiale" 2002
(Denmark), accordionist Alexander Poeluev.
The main aims of the IMC "Harmony" are
the development of music art, international
cultural partnership, revealing and
supporting of talented musicians with the
aim of their further creative maturity
(development), the improvement of the
professional skills of young piano and
button accordion players, popularization of
traditional Russian music, the
enlightenment of population.
Since 2005 IMC "Harmony" has organized a number of important events
in the sphere of music culture in the South of Russia. Among them there
are the concerts legendary American accordionists Art Van Damm
(2005); Frank Marocco(2006); Vladimir Danilin Jazz Quartet (2006); a 100
Anniversary of Russisan Bayan International Festival (2007); French
accordionist Elodie Sular (2007); French Alan Musichini Jazz Quartet
(2008); World Day of Accordion" Accordion Plus" concert (2009);
"Parade of Ensembles" (2010), where Honoured Artists of Russia Vasily
Pianov, Gennady Kalmykov.
The collaboration with the Rostov-on-Don City Department of Cultural
Affairs began in 2011, since then" Accordion Plus" festival grew greatly.
Within the framework of the Festival the lst Open Children
Accordionists Competition "ACCORDION PLUS" was held.
This year IMC "Harmony" is going to manage VII Festival" Accordion
Plus" 26-30 March.
A unique feature of the festival is an amateur movement.
Since 2007 the outstanding place in programs of the festivals
has taken the exhibition of button/piano accordions, visitors
are encouraged to try the instruments. Once, an owner of an
accordion was playing so enthusiastically showing his
accordion to others that the break was prolonged and lasted
for 40 minutes. Since then each time the exhibition in a break
is accompanied by a great merriment, people are playing,
dancing, singing. Owners of the accordions, the accordion
makers felt very much involved in to the festival.
A new branch of "Harmony" activity is edition of the scores,
notes and books. The collection of the pieces performed
during the" Accordion Plus" competition is going to be let
out.
In December 2015 IMC "Harmony" celebrated its 10th
anniversary. As always this date was marked by
wonderful concert. Our center every time tries to find a
new way of representing accordion music to the audience.
The 69th "Coupe Mondiale" is going to be the essence of
the best performances of the" Accordion Plus" and
something new! We are waiting for everyone, each of you
will find something interesting for themselves during the
69th "Coupe Mondiale" in Rostov-on-Don, Russia.

The 69th Coupe Mondiale will take place in Rostov-on-Don
11th -17th Septe111ber 2016!
The Coupe Mondiale in Rostov-on-Don includes:
• Prestigious accordionists competition/ which will be held in the
three big halls of the city;
• SEVEN concerts on the city/s best concert locations;
• Leading Russian soloists and ensembles/ symphonic/ jazz/ and folk
orchestras and a combined orchestra of accordionists;
• Interactive exhibitions and mass festivities on Karl Marx square/ the
country/s best amateur ensembles performance;
• Harmonists/ accordionists/ and accordion restorers;
• Unforgettable meetings/ masterclasses with famous players/ masters
of the accordion art;
• Excursions to all the sights of Rostov-on-Don;
• Creative atmosphere/ the opportunity to make new friends from all
over the world;
• World premieres;
The closing concert of Coupe Mondiale will be held on the city's
main square, where about 100.000 J?eople will listen to the
Champion of 2016 !

1. Candidates must be entered through the CIA Premiere and Voting member
organization(s) in their respective countries. If a candidate is from a country
where there is no CIA Premiere or Voting member organization, prospective
candidates are requested to apply directly to the CIA, subject to acceptance,
until such time as a voting member entity is established in that country.

This concert presents of iconic musicians both accordionists and
button-accordionists, Russian orchestras and ensembles: "Russian timbre",
Saratov Trio, Accordion assembled orchestra (more than 100 musicians), Rostov
Don Cossacks State Academic Song and Dance Ensemble, Rostov Philharmonic
Symphony Orchestra, The Orchestra of Russian Folk Instruments "Don", Jazz

and others.
