Royal Official Opening of the new Whiston Hospital

The Trust was privileged to welcome HRH The Countess of Wessex GCVO to
commemorate the official opening of the new Whiston Hospital.
The event marked the completion of the redevelopment and building of the new Whiston
Hospital.
During the visit, The Countess met patients, staff and volunteers and visited a number of
wards and departments within the hospital.
The photographs below represent the story of Her Royal Highnesses visit to Whiston
Hospital.
HRH The Countess of Wessex arrives at Whiston
Hospital. Escorted by the Lord Lieutenant of
Merseyside Dame Lorna Muirhead, she is
introduced to the Vice Lord Lieutenant of
Merseyside, the High Sheriff of Merseyside and
the Mayor and Mayoress of Knowsley.
HRH meets staff at the main entrance of the
hospital.

the new Whiston Hospital, talking of the progress the Trust has made
since Whiston old Victorian workhouse/ hospital building to the state
of the art facilities of the new Whiston Hospital.
The Countess thanks staff and patients at Whiston Hospital for the
warm reception she received and congratulates the Trust on the world
class facilities provided at the hospital.
