Purgatory on Earth
This talk is a discussion of the doctrine of Purgatory, as
well as the importance of praying for the dead, especially
through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Furthermore, it is an
investigation of the phrase, “doing your Purgatory on earth,”

homeschool moms, dads, and children, who have embraced
a difficult vocation.

Mary Ellen Barrett
Creating an Atmosphere of Love
and Learning in the Home
An atmosphere of love, learning, and levity can change the

will come to love learning.

Race with the Devil:
Prof. Joseph Pearce

What is a Catholic Education?
Dr. Jonathan Sanford
Dr. Sanford reflects on to overcome some challenges in
providing a genuine Catholic education. In the last analysis,
a Catholic education is an education for freedom by which
ignorance and other vices are overcome so that the welleducated student is able to think clearly, write well, discern
the truth with precision, live out the other virtues, and
cultivate that greatest of relationships: friendship with God.

Colleen Billing
15 Important Things I’ve Learned in
15 Years of Homeschooling
This will be a high energy talk with everything from
teaching our kids how to pray, to mom taking care of herself,
to frequenting the sacraments, to saying NO to too many
extracurricular activities.
11:00 - 11:45 A.M.
Prof. Joseph Pearce
A Matter of Life and Death:
The Battle for a True Education
Education is quite simply a matter of life and death.
The poisoning of education by the architects of secular
fundamentalism, and the culture of death it promotes, can
only be countered by a restoration of tradition-oriented
learning. Joseph Pearce will discuss the deadliness of the
poison and will present the ingredients of the life-giving
antidote.
12:00 - 1:30 P.M. Vendor Sales/Lunch Break
1:30 - 1:50 P.M.
Mary Ellen Barrett
Honor Thy Husband;
Happy Husband, Happy Homeschool
In a world that increasingly diminishes and ridicules men
and fathers, it is extremely important that we not only honor
our husbands but also raise our sons to be good strong,
godly men. A wife’s role in this cannot be understated as she
sets the tone of the home.
2:00 - 2:20 P.M.
You Can Teach Your Children
Dave Palmer
Thomistic Philosophy. Yes, You Can!
Dave will explain why there is no reason for your child to
wait until he or she is in college to begin benefitting from
the teachings of the Angelic Doctor. The basic principles
of Thomistic thought should be taught by all homeschool
parents to children of all ages. Kids will love learning classic
Christian philosophy through simple lessons, fun activities,
and outdoor adventures!
2:30 - 3:15 P.M.
Fr. Shannon Collins
The Most Holy Rosary: A Spiritual
Weapon for Homeschool Families
The Holy Rosary is a scourge that beats back our enemies,
filled with small stones that knock down any Goliath. It is a
saving rope and chain that lifts us to heavenly heights. But
the Holy Rosary is not just essential equipment for dark
times, but also a sure means of ushering in an age of peace.
