Our chapter Fun day was the first of March, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank
everyone who was able to help with this event. The weather was good, and we had several chapters from across Alabama in attendance. Everyone had a great time, and it was a good day to ride.
April begins with two events. On Friday the 8th, the 40 To Phoenix will be in Birmingham. We
have had the privilege to host them for several years. During the day, they will be visiting the Barbers Museum. If you have time, come out and join the riders as they tour the museum. We will
need some bikes to help lead them to the Irondale Café that afternoon. If you are able to help, it
will be appreciated. Chapter Y, along with Chapter T, will be entertaining them at dinner. The Café will be open just for this event, and it begins at 5pm. I hope to see you there.
Saturday the 9th is the Alabama District picnic. It will once again be held at The Confederate Memorial Park. The picnic will begin at 10am. There will be a meeting place in order for the chapter
to be able to ride down together. Be sure to plan to attend. The ride down, as well as being able to
socialize with friends, is great.
The Georgia District rally is the 21-23 of April. We will be doing a day ride on Saturday the 23 rd.
The Tennessee District rally is the 28th-30th of April. This will be a chapter weekend ride. We will
have more information at the chapter meeting about these events and other happenings. Hope to
see you at the meeting.
Thanks again for all you do for our chapter.

Co-Rider/Co-Pilot
Today we are going to talk about one of the most important parts of our bike or trike; The CoRider. What is a Co-Rider/Co-Pilot or partner? They are your second eyes and ears.
The one’s of us that are fortunate to have a Co-rider and enjoy them riding with us, need to make
sure that they are comfortable at all times. The best way to do this is to do a “Tee-Clock” check.
This includes checking heated seat adjustment, footrest, CB system, your instrument panel, sound
system/intercom volume (so they can make sure you do not miss your turns) prior to departure on
the bike. When your co-rider suggest you find gas when you still have half a tank left, is your way
of knowing that it is time for a pit stop.
We need to remember that our Co-rider receives a different measure of wind, temperature, rain
and wind noise. So we need the right windshield and air wings to make them as comfortable as we
are at all times.
If they ask us to get directions on where we are going, do so. Remember you are not “Tarzan and
you are not the King of the Jungle”.
Ride Safe and have fun.

Spring is here, yeah!!! 50% chance of rain and 100% chance your bike has a nice yellow hue to it.
Like a lot of you, I try to ride whenever, wherever I can. We don’t winterize our bikes, we ride them.
There are some things that we do need to be aware of. Now that we are or should be riding even more go
ahead and get that maintenance done now. Don’t wait until two days before the trip and try to get an oil
change or new tires put on. Do it now. The stress isn’t worth it, for you or your trusted mechanic.
We were busy in March with our Funday on March 5. Thanks to all that helped make it a success. From
the volunteers to the attendees to all that donated door prizes. What a great time!
We had a good crowd at our Chapter meeting 3/8 and a group made the trip down to Chapter M’s 30th
anniversary cookout 3/12 before adding an extra hour of daylight on Sunday 3/13.
A great time was had by all on Wild Wings Wednesday.
Looking ahead to April…….

We have a few new prospects and hope to add them to the Chapter Y family.
Who have you talked to about our chapter? New prospect or someone you miss.
Call them, tell them that you miss them and let’s get moving.
Ride safe, ride home,

Greetings to all! It is almost April and our official riding season is upon us. By the way, have you told anyone how
much fun you are having with your fellow riders and your GWRRA family? Have you attended any chapter, district or
region events recently? It might surprise you to know that others might be just a little bit curious about what we are all
about. Get out and participate in the activities and then let others know how much fun we are having.
As of this newsletter, there were several activities held in March. For example, Chapter M held their 30 th Anniversary
get together on March 12, the Chapter F-Z Picnic on March 19, and the Florida District Rally March 17-19. The weather was not great for either of the events, but from all reports, each activity had its share of fun and fellowship.
During April, there are several events planned. Beginning with Friday, April 8, the 40 to Phoenix Ride will be in Birmingham. On that evening, Chapters Y & T will be hosting the group at the Irondale Café. This will begin at 5pm. If
you would like to attend and meet riders from other states, please feel free to do so.
The next event is Saturday, April 9. This is the annual Alabama District Picnic. It will be held at the Confederate Memorial Park. This is a nice park and you do not have to pay to attend. It is being held earlier this year so that we might
avoid the hot weather.
Chapter U is having their 25th Anniversary celebration on Tuesday, April 12 at the Golden Corral in Dothan, AL. Their
CD, Bruce Williamson promises a great time.
The Georgia District Rally is planned for April 21-23 in Dalton, GA. As in year s past, this r ally also holds the
promise of a great time for all. You won’t go wrong by attending.
Chapter G is planning their Fun day for Saturday, April 30 at the Lowery Community Center, located on HWY 52 between Samson and Kinston, AL. This is always a day of fun, great food and fellowship. Registration begins at 10:00
and the registration fee is $12.00.
On a more distant item of interest, let’s not forget our Alabama District Rally. Once again, we will gather at the Lakepoint Lodge and Resort in Eufaula, AL May 19-21. This is always a gr eat time to get together with your GWRRA
friends and family. There appears to be a lot planned – ugly Christmas sweater contest, a special talent show (winner to
appear in talent show at Wing Ding in Billings, MT), lots of prizes and who knows what else. You need to get your registrations in and make your room reservations. Information is on the Alabama District Website.
We are truly blessed to live in a country that is free. This is made possible by the men and women in uniform and their
families who serve and protect us each day. Also, we would be lost without our first responders and their families who
take care of us as well.
Looking forward to seeing everyone down the road. Please ride safely wherever you venture.

PLEASE KEEP OUR MILITARY
AND THEIR FAMILIES
IN YOUR PRAYERS
It was that time, during the Sunday morning service, for the children's
sermon. All the children were invited to come forward.
One little girl was wearing a particularly pretty dress and,
as she sat down, the pastor leaned over and said,
"That is a very pretty dress. Is it your Easter Dress?"
The little girl replied, directly into the pastor's clip-on microphone,
"Yes, and my Mom says it's a bitch to iron."
