Something to do at home:
Make a model outer sarcophagus (coffin) of Djeddjehutyiuefankh

You can use this template to make a model of
the largest outer coffin in the picture above.
Djeddjehutyiuefankh was an important priest
who lived in Egypt about 2780 years ago.
His mummy was placed inside three coffins
(sarcophagi). The outer coffin is decorated
with a model of the god Anubis in the form
of a jackal, and the god Horus in the form of
falcons. What other decoration can you see on
the sarcophagi?
Instructions
•
Cut out the solid lines.
•
Add your own decoration/colour in.
•
Fold along the dotted lines to make a box.
•
Cut off the falcon and jackal tabs. Fold along
the dotted line to create tabs, and glue or
sellotape them to the top of the coffin.
•
Finally glue or sellotape tabs to finish.
•
The lid can be tucked in so you can open and
close it.
•
For another project why not make a mummy
to go inside!
