Where: CUMC’s room 116
Children will hear a bible story, create a craft, listen to
music and have a small snack. Parents are asked to serve as
leaders on a rotating basis. Bible Buddies does not meet on
FCPS holidays. Registration is available in the classroom. If
you are available to lead Bible Buddies or have any questions,

We appreciate Kellie Burns Peterson (Ms. Kellie) for serving as
the leader of the Bible Buddies Fellowship Group for more than
eleven years, guiding and shaping the lives of countless young
people. Ms. Kellie is currently exploring employment prospects
beyond the church and we are seeking a parent or group of
parents to lead the Bible Buddies on Monday afternoons.

Mark your calendar for Surf Shack Vacation Bible School July 11th – 15th.
In this mission-focused VBS, young surfers will stay in the pocket so they’ll
hit the impact zone with a deeper understanding of God’s awesome power!
Vacation Bible School at Centreville UMC is for rising Kindergarteners
through rising 6th graders. There is nursery care and a preschool program for
parents who serve throughout the whole week of VBS.

Many hands are needed to make VBS a wonderful week for the
children. There are opportunities for youth (rising 7th grade
and up) and adults! Planning teams are working now to create an

June 6th: VBS Waitlist Begins!
To ensure enough supplies and VBS materials are available, a
waitlist will be created. As spots become available, children
will be placed in their age appropriate group. Sign up early to
avoid the waitlist!

Count Up to Easter

The season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Lent is
the period before Easter (March 27th) when we prepare our hearts for the
resurrection of our Savior, Jesus. Lent reminds us of Jesus’ time of
fasting and temptation in the wilderness after his baptism. This is why
Lent is considered a time of fasting and preparation. Today Lent lasts six
and one half weeks, with exactly forty fast days between Ash Wednesday
and Easter. Sundays have never been included as fast days, since
celebration rather than fasting should characterize every Sunday—the day
Jesus rose from the dead. Consider helping your child prepare for Easter
by using the Count up to Easter Activity Card available with the Lenten
devotions in the Narthex.
