T
his very gentle stroll travels above the railway line,
with spectacular views over St Ives Bay. Look for
prehistoric field systems, a Celtic saint's medieval
chapel, a fishermen's lookout hut, shipwrecks, railways,
mining and a twentieth-century novelist. The walk travels
on good paths with gentle ascents and descents.

A
short walk alongside the railway line high above St
Ives Bay. Look for rare wildflowers and migratory
birds. Celtic saints are said to have established
chapels while a St Ives mayor set up his own eccentric
tradition at an obelisk along the way. There is little ascent or
descent but the path can be exposed to sea winds.

A
n invigorating walk, starting from St Ives Station. It
passes through granite-cobbled streets and out onto
the South West Coast Path to the open heathland of
Clodgy Point. The route returns through a landscape of
ancient patchwork fields. The path is rough in places, with
some ascent and descent- none of it steep or prolonged.
