and George Critchley returns to
the Muni for his 20th consecutive
year, this time to play the part of
Buttons.
Will the wicked three prevent the union
of the gracious Cinderella and her beau?
Or will they marry and live happily ever after?

The Rise & Fall of Little Voice
Green Door Theatre Group
Wednesday 27th - Friday 29th January
....................................................................................................................................
Doors Open: 6.45pm Show Starts: 7.30pm
Tickets: £8.50
Seating: Unreserved Theatre Style
....................................................................................................................................
With kind permission from Samuel
French, Green Door Theatre Group
presents its version of The Rise
and Fall of Little Voice.
Green Door Theatre Group is a
new amateur theatre company
based in Colne. This is their
first production and combines
the power of comedy and
drama, with the poignancy of
musical performance through
the title role of Little Voice.
The diminutive heroine frequently
plunges the dilapidated house she
shares with her alcoholic mother
into darkness by playing her dead
father's records at a volume matched
only by the soulful power of her vocal
impressions. Little Voice has a hidden talent:
she can emulate every chanteuse from Judy
Garland to Edith Piaf.
Jim Cartwright writes with enormous wit and a cutting
slice of authenticity, bringing out the ugliness of relationships,
as well as the most tender of moments.
Many of the cast are well-known to theatre-goers in Colne and beyond, however, there are
also some newer faces. The production is directed by one of Green Door’s founders, Gilly
Grist, who writes as well as directs and performs in plays, and is extremely proud to be
bringing this production to the Muni, as the theatre is perfect for the unusual staging of this
production.
Contains some adult language therefore parental guidance is recommended.

Doors Open: 7.30pm Show Starts: 8.30pm
Tickets: £20 (advance), £23 (on door)
Seating: Unreserved Cabaret Style

From The Jam and Nine Below Zero
promise to give the public what it wants
in this exclusive and intimate show.
From The Jam features Bruce
Foxton from the original The Jam
line-up and Russell Hastings on
lead vocals and guitar.
From The Jam has gained a
reputation for the kind of
incendiary ‘live’ performances
that sealed the reputation of
The Jam all those years ago.
NINE
BELOW
ZERO
Audiences can expect to hear
classic hits such as ‘Down In The
Tube Station At Midnight’, ‘Going
Underground’, ‘Town Called Malice’
and ‘The Modern World’, as well as
some live favourites and songs from
Bruce’s solo career.
English Blues band Nine Below Zero has a
cult following throughout Europe and was
most popular between 1980 and 1982. 2012
saw the return of Brian Bethell and the new line-up
started performing in January, with shows in Germany,
Switzerland and Austria, as the band entered its 35th year.
Following on from 2013's remastered re-release of Nine Below
Zero’s live debut album, Live at the Marquee, came a double instalment in 2014 - remastered
editions of the first two studio albums Don't Point Your Finger and Third Degree.
With links to Squeeze and the Rolling Stones, Nine Below Zero has recently been
name-checked as influences by popular rock ‘n’ roll upstarts The Strypes.
Two great bands, lots of well-known tunes, fantastic musicianship - don’t miss this
double-whammy of excellent live music!

Jennifer Pike Violin
Former BBC Young Musician, Jennifer Pike, a
performer with roots in the North West, joins
Camerata for that matchless evocation of the
moorland landscape, The Lark Ascending.
The exuberance of youth is a feature of both Mozart’s
Symphony no.1, written when he was only 8 years old,
and the relatively ancient Schubert, whose Symphony
no.5 was written when he was 19. The symphonies are
bursting with energy and great melodies.

Mozart Symphony No.29, K201 Adi Brett Director/Violin Rachael Clegg Oboe
Manchester Camerata’s Principal Oboe, Rachael Clegg, originally hails from Colne and for this season
finale she teams up with leader Adi Brett to perform Bach’s Double Concerto for Violin and Oboe.
In the hands of these two wonderful musicians, this characterful concerto will come alive,
especially as Bach evidently enjoyed creating a sparkling musical conversation between the solo
instruments.
CPE Bach and Mozart’s symphonies are full of brilliant invention, energy and joy.

Marc Bolan, with his band T.Rex, was one of the
most flamboyant and charismatic stars of the
original glam rock era. With Bolan's special
ingredient of Rock-a-Boogie songs throughout
the 1970s, including 'Telegram Sam' and 'Jeepster',
he was able to obtain what would be yet another
Top 20 record in 1976 that has since become one
of the most memorable and everlasting signature
tunes, 'I Love to Boogie'.
T.Rextasy is the world’s only official live tribute band
dedicated to Marc Bolan and T.Rex and has been
described by many as ‘beyond the boundaries of tribute’.
If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan
concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!

The Three Degrees are an American
female vocal group formed in 1963
in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
When you hear the name – The
Three Degrees – you conjure up
a vision of three beautiful
women, perfectly co-ordinated
in both their dance routines
and their vocal harmonies.
Decades on, the threesome
have retained all three of their
major qualities – their beauty,
their sparkling choreography and
their precise vocal qualities.
And, in between, they have amassed
an impressive list of hit records known
all around the world, including ‘When
Will I See You Again’, ‘Dirty Ol' Man’, ‘Woman
In Love’ and ‘Take Good Care Of Yourself’.
Today, the line-up consists of Valerie Holiday,
Helen Scott and Freddie Pool. The Three Degrees
have been continuously touring for more than 40 years
and can still make the claim of being the longest running
female vocal group in history.
Catch them at The Muni during this very rare visit to this part of the world.
