Formed in 1992, Technology Desking specialise in the
design, manufacture and installation of furniture products
focused on managing technology in the workplace. Our
market sectors include trading floors, control rooms and
technical benching. We operate from a 10,000 sq ft
logistics and administrative centre in Thurrock, Essex and a
prestigious showroom facility at Canary Wharf which also
accommodates our sales and design teams.
The product range supplied by Technology Desking
is procured primarily in the UK through established
quality manufacturing partners, providing us with a
depth of knowledge, resource and flexibility to
accommodate varying specifications within differing
timescales. All design work is produced by our
in-house design team on CAD, in order that we
maintain full control of all manufacturing requirements.
Technology Desking are able to support clients worldwide
and have offices in New York and Hong Kong, together
with a network of agents across the globe. We provide our
clients with a dedicated account manager along with 24/7
global access and assistance through our dedicated client

cost-effective fully integrated cabling/IT/power desktop
connectivity system and SmartPower a unique power
saving device. In addition, we supply a comprehensive
range of seating and storage solutions.

deskType 9 (dT9) is Technology Desking’s newest and
most flexible product range designed to exceed all
customer requirements from back office to full trading and
control rooms. Built to the highest specification, the dT9
core components can be simply up or downgraded when
required without compromising style or ability.
As standard, dT9 incorporates height adjustment with a
height selectable frame. Additional crank and electric
adjustable options are available, offering improved IT
access and full ergonomic compliance. dT9 has been
awarded the FIRA Ergonomic Excellence award and, whilst
the ergonomic benefits of height adjustment are well
documented, our crank and electric adjustable desks also
provide the additional benefit of uninterrupted IT access.

Heat management is an important consideration when
specifying furniture that incorporates high density IT
specifications. dT9 has been independently heat tested by
the Building Research Establishment (BRE) and is capable
of comfortably managing 2.4Kw of thermal load via natural
ventilation. dT9’s proven heat management solutions also
include fan assist, forced air and chilled water fan coil
cooling.

banded for wave specifications. The worksurfaces can

deskType 9 has been fully tested and certified by the
Furniture Industry Research Association (FIRA) and
conforms to the dimensional requirements of
BS EN 527-1 : 2011, Types A, B and D.
The new standard has been introduced to ensure better
ergonomic comfort for today's office workers and requires
increased legroom and greater ranges of height
adjustability.
Desk heights are now lower to suit short users and higher
to suit tall users. Legroom has also increased to enable tall
users to stretch their legs without having to push
themselves away from their desks.
Typically 3-4 PCs per user are located within a trading or
control room desk and the number and size of the PCs
may determine overall desk footprint and the amount of
legroom and footspace available to the user. To facilitate
full compliance with the new standard, Technology Desking
can offer three alternative solutions:
Option A illustrates a trading desk with 4-8 processors
shared in a back-to-back scenario, with an extended
desktop to provide the user with additional footspace.
Option B is ideal for a mixture of small form factor and
standard size PCs to maximise footspace without
compromising the overall desk footprint. The small form
factor PCs are located on a raised shelf or trolley behind
vented access doors.
Option C is ideal for light trading applications where only
1-2 PCs are required, or for remote processing. By
reducing the width of the PC housing, an open legroom
void is created without compromising the overall desk
footprint.

Technology Desking
deskType 9 (dT9) can incorporate either Height
Selectable, Crank, or Electrical height adjustment to
provide a complete range of desk height adjustment
solutions.

Mechanical height adjustment is achieved by a sliding
mechanism that is operated by 4 x M10 bolts located in the
inside of the desk frame. Height adjustment is carried out
when necessary by the facilities department.
Mechanical height adjustment is achieved either by a
removable crank handle or power tool. The crank handle
can either be fixed in position, removed & kept by the user
or alternatively be kept remotely by IT or Facilities in order
to prevent user misuse.
A digital control panel for electronic height adjustment can
be fixed in position or kept remotely by IT or Facilities in
order to prevent user misuse. As standard, the control
system incorporates anti-collision and safety stop features.

SmartArm Monitor Arm
SmartArm is a flexible flat panel monitor mounting system.
Whether you require a single monitor mount or a fully tiled
double tier array, SmartArm will deliver an enhanced
performance with fully integrated fitting options.
Pole mounts or slat rail mounts are available with varying
desktop connecting methods including desk edge clamp
and cable grommet mounts. SmartArm can be specified
with a full two link arm extension, a single link or the
shorter universal mount for tilt and swivel actions only.
Our new quick release hub caters for quick and easy
monitor removal whilst keeping both hands safely on the
monitor. The hub also includes a fine height adjustment
feature for perfect horizontal alignment to adjacent
monitors.
This feature can be accessed from the top of the hub for
single tier adjustment and below the hub for lower tier
adjustments where a full double tier array is specified. The
quick release hub also swivels to offer landscape or portrait
configurations.
Whether the lower tier is a full width slatrail arrangement
or a pillar based array, all extensions can be made without
the need to remove or disrupt existing monitors. When
fitting monitors of varying size, SmartArm allows you to
maintain horizontal alignment for improved aesthetics and
ergonomic performance.

Whilst virgin plastic is normally utilised so as to achieve the
required product performance, the copper and other metals
utilised can be up to 50% recycled material. All plastics and
metals used in cable manufacture are 100% recyclable.
Technology Desking (Td) constantly strive for continuous improvement in environmental performance.
Our design team carefully select all components and materials specified within our product portfolio and
work closely with our manufacturers to ensure materials are sourced from managed and sustainable
resources.
Packaging
Our desks require protective packaging during transit to prevent
damage however; we reuse both crates and pallets and where
possible plastic and card is separated for recycling.
Td work to a high professional standard adopting a corporate code of ethics, enhancing our
environmental responsibilities.
Aluminium
Aluminium is infinitely recyclable and, dependent upon the
relevant manufacturing process, all aluminium components
are made from either 60%, 80% or 100% recycled material.
We utilise both extruded and die cast aluminium processes;
all off cuts are returned back into the supply chain for recycling.
Transportation
We aim to flat-pack as much of our product as possible to
maximise use of storage space and minimise travel journeys and

Sheet steel is constructed from approximately 25% recycled
steel. Our manufacturers aim to utilise 80% of each sheet and

demonstrated in deskType 9. 89% of the component parts are
recyclable. The remaining timber components can be incinerated
to generate heating.
Timber
Our timber components are primarily made from melamine faced
chipboard (MFC) or medium density fibreboard (MDF) which is
entirely manufactured from recycled FSC timber; any resultant
waste material is used for factory heating.
Plastic
All plastic components within deskType 9 and Technology Links are
by nature 100% recyclable. The primary plastic components within
our desk are cable chains, which are manufactured from a recycled
jazz grade material consisting of many different grades of plastic
which is traditionally used on unseen components.
EOL
End of Life
deskType 9 is extremely durable with a combined steel and
aluminium frame that will provide many years of service. At any
point during the products lifetime, new desktops and doors
can be easily exchanged to inject new life and prolong the
products existence.
