Registration has begun for the 2015-2016 school year.
Register online through Gradelink and follow the
EnrollMe tab on the left side. To ensure your child has a
spot in their class next year, register online. And
remember: Refer a family and receive a $100 credit on
your tuition for the 2015-2016 school year.
Tutoring continues next week for students in Grades K-8.

Lunch Menu Changes for Lent
Each Friday during Lent is traditionally a day of
abstinence, so our lunches will be meatless. We
encourage you to follow suit if you pack your
child’s lunch on Fridays. It helps is all be more
mindful of the sacrifice of our Lord.

Silent Auction Items Needed
Just imagine if each of us brought an
item….SUCCESS! We have begun collecting
items for the Spring Benefit Silent Auction.
Please start thinking about how you can be
part of our success this year. Do you enjoy
baking or making crafts? Maybe a friend or
employer would like to donate a service. We
ask that items be valued at $25 or above.
Donations may be dropped off in the School
Office.
Discovery Green
Discovery STEM: Spring Break Week March 16-20,
10:00am–4:00pm. This year families can enjoy an array of free
activities powered by Girl Start — Empowering Girls in Math,
Science and Technology. Check out the busy schedule:

Main Street Theater
Main Street Theater is offering 1:30pm matinees during Spring
Break: March 16-20. Kids will love seeing a beloved book
character come to life at The Musical Adventures of Flat
Stanley. {Goldstar has a limited number of half-price tickets
available at $7.50 rather than $15. Buy them online.}
Studio Movie Grill
The Family Rewind movie in March is The Wizard of Oz, March
18, 7:00pm, for just $3 at both Copperfield and City Centre
locations.
Elementary Science Fair -(K-5th)
Thursday, April 9
All projects should be in Parish Hall no later
than 8:00 AM. Late projects will be accepted,
but not judged. Scientists and engineers from
ExxonMobil will be judging the projects.
Projects should do an experiment, have a lab
notebook and report, and include references!
IKEA Houston
Writers in the Schools (WITS) is offering a free Children’s
Creative Workshop Tuesday, March 17, 6:00–7:00pm. It’s also
a Kids Eat Free day! Located at 7810 Katy Freeway.
Space Center Houston
Spring Break at Space Center Houston, March 14-22.Enjoy Pi
Day, Space Scavenger Hunt, Meet the Meteorite Hunters,
Curiosity Expo, and a special premiere of Journey to
Space March 14. Take a NASA Tram Tour for a behind-thescenes journey. Buy tickets online and save $3 or visit one of
Space Center Houston’s promotional partners for a half-price
admission coupon. Online admission is $20.95/adults and
$15.95/kids 4-11. Space Center Houston is located south of
downtown Houston near Webster, 1601 NASA Parkway.

the Patron Saint of Ireland.

The program is for boys ages 10-14 and their fathers or
significant father-figure. The program brings fathers and sons
together to look at the wonder and power of God’s plan for
human sexuality in the process of growing up and becoming
a man.

The program is for girls ages 9-12 and their mothers or
significant mother-figure. The program fosters an atmosphere
of love and understanding in discussing God’s plan for the
gift of human sexuality and the challenges of living chastely.
There is a program fee of $35/family which includes
refreshments and take-home resources. Registration is
limited to 50 families for each program. The programs are
sponsored by the Archdiocesan Office of AdolescentCatechesis.

Lenten Recipes
Cajun Seafood Pasta

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1-1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 cup chopped green onions
1 cup chopped parsley
1/2-pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1-pound dry fettucine pasta
DIRECTIONS:
1. Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente.
2. Meanwhile, pour cream into large skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until just about boiling. Reduce heat, and
add herbs, salt, peppers, onions, and parsley. Simmer 7 to 8 minutes, or until thickened.
3. Stir in seafood, cooking until shrimp is no longer transparent. Stir in cheeses, blending well.
4. Drain pasta. Serve sauce over noodles.

TRAIL CLEAN UP OPPORTUNITY

To clean up the walking trails (and if the weather is good some of the
waterways around the trails) in the Newport section of Crosby
March 21 at 2:00pm – 4:00pm
Meet at South Diamondhead Park and you will get directions from there
So we can clean our community and give back to nature and so I can get a requirement for a badge I’m
working on
