The entire component can be turned

When this is activated, the component
will be displayed as mirrored component.
The element is turned 90°.
This inverts the displayed component,
whereby white areas will be printed and
black areas will be omitted.
With this the component can be
elongated in the longitudinal direction by
multiple use of a stroke. This looks like
fat printing. Numbers between 1 to 100
can be entered.
Use this function to insert an empty
column behind each printed column, thus
giving a text spacing effect. Numbers
between 1 to 100 can be entered.
In standard operation this field is without
function; only after additional software
(e. g. database printing) has been
installed, the function of this field will be
defined.
The grid value defines the grid in which the
pointer can be positioned in vertical direction.

Value
Here the numeric value of the barcode can be entered.
This field can also contain the wildcards # for numbering
and ^ for time variables.
Check Char
If the check character is to be generated automatically,
this field must be activated.
StrokeWidth
With this the component can be elongated in the length
direction by multiple use of a stroke.
CharacterWidth
Use this function to insert an empty column behind each
printed column, thus giving a text spacing effect. This
function is only used in exceptional circumstances for
barcodes, as the readability of the code will be affected.
ModuleHeight
Corresponds to the height of the barcode in dots. Values
can be entered in steps of 8, e.g. 8, 16, 24, etc.
Quiet Zone left / right Empty areas before and after the barcode are
necessary in order to attain a readable result. (Strokes
which are not printed.) The width of these zones can be
set here.
Field index
In standard operation this field is without function; only
after additional software (e. g. database printing) has
been installed, the function of this field will be defined.
Text Info
In addition to the barcode itself, this code can be placed
as clear text in various positions.
Upside down
The entire component can be turned by 180°.
B->A
When this is activated, the component will be displayed
as mirrored text.
Negative
This inverts the displayed component, whereby white

Print length
Use this parameter to set the required full length in
millimetres of the current print text for the machine.
The machine‘s technical options have to be taken
into consideration first or corrected automatically after
an attainable value is set. This will also modify the
selected density.
Density
(strokes:
Use this parameter to set the degree of blackness for
the print text. This value affects the number of drops
that are used for outputting a pixel. The possible value
depends on the current print length.
Note: A higher print density correspondingly reduces
the maximum possible product speed at which the
correct print image can be guaranteed.
Print position
Use this value to determine the distance (in
millimetres) from the triggering of the product sensor to
the start of print.
Bottom-up
Use this switch to set whether the print text
will be printed as normal or upside down.

Configuration menu
Offset for several heads (“Head”)
This menu is only needed for machines with more than
one head at a production line.
Offset Y
Use this input to determine which part of the print text set up in
the editor will be printed. The entry is made in Pixels, whereby
the value entered for the machine will be divided by 8 and the
value rounded down, as the editor can only use the entered text
in lines having a height of 8 pixels each. (i.e. if 32 is entered,
the lowest printed pixel line for the print job is pixel line 32 in the
editor). For single-line machines, this value should always be 0.
Offset X
In this field, enter the offset of the heads in relation to each
other, to obtain a uniform print image in the printer output. The
entry is made in mm.

PS
The product sensor pulse is displayed in this field. If the
sensor is recognised, a cross (X) is displayed for the duration
of the pulse.
Progress
The variable cursor-bar is a visualisation of the current print
job status.
Print frequency
This value shows the current frequency of the print output in
Hz.
Speed
The product speed calculated from the entry made in the
installation menu (“norm”) will be displayed in this field.
(Encoder speed.) The current speed in m/min can be used
for checking the encoder.
Capacity used
This value informs about the current capacity used, indicated
in percent of the maximum print capacity.
Pixel
This value corresponds to the number of dots in the current
print text and can be used (for example) for determining the
ink consumption.
Forward
The present product movement direction is displayed in this
field. The display always refers to the alphaJET preferred
direction and uses the direction information taken from the
encoder.

Program parameter (“ProgPar”) - standard
Print start
Continuous: permanently repeated print jobs, for which the
distance value has to be entered. Is started by pressing the
start button in the “Print Menu” (e.g. for continuous printing
without signal).
Prodsensor: External product sensor generates the print
start signal (normal operation).
Repetition: Same as continuous printing but is activated via a
product sensor signal (signal must be permanently present.)
Startkey: For single print jobs (press “Start” in the print
menu, e.g. for initial test print).
PS signal inverse Use this to invert the product sensor signal level (reverse). This
is used for aligning the leading edge trigger (dark on, light on)
of a light barrier. (normally: dark on)
Start only
forward
If this field is activated, print start will only be generated when
the product is transported in the forward direction.
Print mark divider This number states the number of product sensor pulses that
are required to start a print.
Distance
Training: alphaJET C
The distance between two prints is entered in millimetres (from
end of print to start of print). (Must be entered for repetition
and continuous printing.)

Setup
Special configurations for the alphaJET-C can be set in this window. The
following setting options are available for use:
Print mode

available in the machine. The print mode defines the
pixel size of the print image (number of possible lines), the
print quality and the maximum possible print frequency.
HV
High voltage for the deflection electrode in the print
head, given as a % of the default standard value set in
the factory.
Modulation
This value modifies the drop separation point
(corresponds to the same entry given in the phasing
window). However, this should only be modified by
service technicians or trained operators.
IFlowWatch OFF
The ink flow sensor in the ink return tube (print-head)
can be switched on or off. Normal setting: on.
