The 2009 All-American Contest
lthough 2009 wasn’t the best year
for milk prices, exhibitors brought
out their best to parade on the colored shavings. You proved once again that
the Big Brown Cow can compete with the
other breeds and made them take notice
of the great qualities Brown Swiss have.
Ringside favorite Old Mill E Snickerdoodle OCS proved once again ‘she had
what it took’, being named Grand Champions of both the Eastern and Central
Nationals. She also went on to be named
Supreme Champion at the Eastern National and Reserve Supreme Champion at
the Central National. At the Western National, Dan Maur Logic Shilo was named
Supreme Junior Champion.
This year marked the 44th All-American contest and there were 157 entries
with 113 nominations. Please see page
xxxxx for a breakdown of the states and
the results from the Readers Judging contest. 15 judges had the honor of deciding
this years winners. The judges and their
pictures can be found on Page xxxxx with
each of the judges individual votes starting on page xxx.
In this year’s contest, there were 58
bulls with at least one daughter nominated. 17 of those bulls had 2 or more
daughters receive nominations. Leading
the pack with seven nominations each
were Blessing Banker Agenda and Blessing Mort Laura Legacy. Having six nominations is Red Brae Prelude Zeus (M) and
following hime with four is Blessing Aytola Banker. Mort Legacy Bonanza *TM,
Rolling View Denver and R Hart Simon
Ensign each had three nominations and
Premium, Vision, Cartoon (M), Dynasty,
Supreme, Tex, Turmoil and Starsky each
had two.
Owning 16 of the 113 nominations
was Elite Dairy of Copake, New York.
Blessing Farms of Ft. Wayne, Indiana,
owned all or part of eight nominations.

with four.
Breeding the most nominations were
Blessing Farms with seven, Pa Lyn Leigh
and Bo Joy Farm with six and Top Acres,
Cutting Edge, Random Lucky and Jo Dee
Swiss with five.
All three of Forest Lawn Farm bred
animals that were nominated were either
Reserve All-American or Honorable Mention. Blessing also bred three of the winners as well as Bo Joy Farm.

Bulletin Readers All American Contest
n this years reader contest, no one agreed
fully with our official judges. Out of the
possible 190 points, we had three readers
tied for first at 186 points. We then had 7
people at 184 points. In the family division, we had repeat winners from last year,
the Roloff family from Waupaca, WI had
scores that averaged 184 points. They were
followed by Otterness family from South
Dakota and the Siegert family from Iowa.
