2:15-3:30pm Saturday only –Dr. Mac Jones, VW Collector and Historian with Dennis Gunning, Mid America Motorworks, Seminar Tent
Mid America Motorworks’ Restoration Specialist, Dennis Gunning, will interview the well-known VW historian and collector, Dr. Mac Jones. Their
discussion will cover Dr. Jones’ collection of rare and unique World War II Volkswagens and memorabilia, as well as his other one-of-a-kind
VW’s. You can view an impressive display of some of his extremely rare World War II era military vehicles in MY Garage Museum during this year’s
Funfest. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to view and learn more about some of the vehicles that made up the German war machine, and
that laid the foundation for Volkswagen’s later success with exporting “The Peoples’ Car".

The Days Of The Frontier With A Chuck Wagon
Style BBQ, Wild West Shootout & Musical
Entertainment From Local Country Artists!
It’s back to the 80’s, the 1880’s that is!
First, enjoy a Pulled Pork BBQ from 4:30-7:30 pm, old west style
for only $5.50 per person, with BBQ pork, baked beans, coleslaw,
and Texas toast with a free gift from Mid America Motorworks.
Soft drinks, bottled water, beer or Mike’s Hard Lemonade are
available separately.
Next, at 5:30 pm, the Effingham Sportsman’s Club will perform a
Wild West Reenactment of a shootout between bank robbers and
the sheriff’s men. Lot’s of excitement with smoke and pistol
shots ringing out. Who will win the day???!!!
We will cap the evening with musical entertainment on the
Funfest stage. Matt Poss and the Wild Bunch will perform from
6:00-7:30 pm. This local group is making big waves all around
the US with their style of music that is “carrying on the traditions
of Johnny Cash, Gram Parsons, Dwight Yoakum, Steve Earle and
Marty Stuart. It’s country. It’s just not your daddy’s country.” Like
the movie that provided the band’s name, their music is honest
and cutting edge.
They started 2006 with some great awards:

Do you feel like camping?
Feel free to camp here on the Mid America Motorworks grounds on Friday and Saturday Nights.
If you do choose to camp on the Mid America Motorworks grounds, we just have a few simple requests:
1. Camp in the designated camping locations only (see the map for details).
2. No open fires. Grills are permitted. Deposit coals in marked receptacles (not on the ground).
3. Port-a-potties and hand washing stations are available (see map for locations).
4. Full camping hook-up, dumping station and water refill facilities are available at Crossroads RV.
Located 1 mile south of the Mid America Motorworks grounds at the stop light.
5. Most of all, please be respectful of the other campers and the Mid America Motorworks grounds.
6. Mid America Motorworks representatives and security will be on the grounds all night if needed.
