Reminders
1. Has everyone become familiar with Plus Portals to see grades, assignments and calendar
information? If you are not sure how to get all the information, email Kathy Grubb at
[email protected] to set up a time for a tutorial. Check out the video link from the
email Kathy sent.
2. Is everyone who picks up your children using their carpool sign which should be clearly visible on
the passenger side? Are you using the correct carpool route?
3. Have you turned in the paperwork for sports participation (when you receive it tonight) and all other
paperwork?
4. Do you have a routine to ensure your children are getting their assignments complete and a bed time
established for the proper amount of rest? Remember that Lower School study hall is Monday
through Thursday and Middle School Study Hall is Tuesday through Thursday. Take advantage of
this time.
Mandatory Athletic Meeting
Parents of any students participating in cheerleading, pep squad or in any athletic sport, including the EDS
recreational league sports, should make plans to attend a mandatory meeting on Wednesday, August 31st
at 6:00pm in the Gym. This night provides everyone an opportunity to sign up for various sports and Gabe
Fontenot, Athletic Director, will explain policies, procedures, and volunteer obligations. Athletic fees will
be assessed at a flat fee of $65.00 which is due at this meeting. There will be no limit to the number of
sports in which a student may participate. There will be time for questions and answers.

ParentPlus gives you secure, mobile access to your child's grades, scores, attendance and homework.
Parents can also access school announcements and the combined calendar. ParentPlus creates a strong
connection between your school and family by sharing information that is critical to your child's success
and learning.
To download, please go to your app store for either your iOS or Android device and search for ParentPlus
or Rediker software. You are looking for an icon that is purple with a graduation cap on it. See picture
below. Once downloaded you will need to enter school name episcopaldayschool (all one word…no
spaces!) and then just login with your user name and password that you created on your computer when
you opened your Parent PlusPortal initially.

Free and Reduced Lunch Forms
Free and Reduced Price School Meals Family Information and Application are available on the credenza.
Your children may qualify for free meals or for reduced price meals. The deadline for the application is
Friday, September 2, 2016. Please read the information carefully. Regardless of the qualifications,
please fill out the application and return it to the school. Bishop Noland Episcopal Day School will receive
federal money for all completed and returned applications even if the applicant does not qualify.
CCAL Football Jamboree
The CCAL Football Jamboree will be held on Wednesday, September 7th at St. Louis Catholic High
School. The game schedule is as follows:
5:30pm
OLS vs EDS
6:15pm
OLQH vs OLI
7:00pm
ICCS vs St. Margaret’s
Admission is $4.00 per adult and $2.00 per student. Concessions will be available.
Auction News
Our auction this year is on Wednesday, October 19th. This year’s auction t-shirt is navy blue with the
theme, “EDS Flies High.”
A limited number of 2016-2017 Auction T-Shirts are available in the Spirit Store for $15.00.
Navy Auction t-shirts will be worn on Friday, September 30th, Friday, October 7th, Friday, October
14th the day of the Auction Wednesday, October 19th.
Please take time to think of a service or item you might like to donate then fill out the attached acquisition
form and return it to the school. Contact Laurie Ardoin, [email protected] if you are
interested in donating an item or volunteering.
Cub Scouts Rally Night
The Cub Scout Rally Night is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th at 5:30pm in the EDS Commons. This
first meeting is especially important because the Dens will be set and pack meeting dates will be
determined. Den Leaders are asked to notify Boo Kay if they are unable to attend. The pack meetings are
for all cub scouts and are held once a month. This is in addition to the den meetings. Please make every
effort to attend this first meeting.
Little Caesar’s Field Trip Fundraiser
(This is NOT a school fundraiser and is optional)
Little Caesar’s Pizza Kits fundraiser is an opportunity for families to sell pizza kits to raise money for
future field trips. The pizza sale directly benefits your child and the funds they earn are “banked” and can
be used towards large field trips such as Sea World or Washington, D.C. The sale began on, Wednesday,
August 24th and ends Friday, September 9th. Pizza kits must be picked up on Thursday, September 22nd and
will require refrigeration. On-line orders use Fundraiser ID# 315935 and make sure to enter the sellers
(student) name so they get credit for the sale.


