In September 2010 Tinicum Capital Partners II
(Tinicum) and JP Asia Partners have acquired the
majority interests of former AMI DODUCO. Tinicum Capital Partners II is a New York based private equity group, which together with its affiliated
funds, has committed capital of more than one
billion US Dollar. Its investors are solely individuals
and families. JP Asia Partners is based in Singapore
and is focused on acquiring equity stakes in highgrowth, technology-enabled companies. JP Asia’s
principals have a successful track record in building
strong business franchises, combined with an extensive network of industrial and financial contacts.
The new equity group is engaged to expand the
business of DODUCO in Europe and Asia.
Products and Services
DODUCO is a world leader in the field of electrical
contacts. The company has the complete knowhow in contact technology including contact materials, semi-finished products, precision stamped
parts and electro-mechanical components. The design and construction of progressive and mold tooling is also done in-house. Other key activities include surface technology, precious metal recycling
and the production of silver bars in different sizes.
With this product range DODUCO is an important
partner for the electrical, electronic and automotive industry and supplies more than 3000 customers
worldwide.

Certifications and awards
History
The management system of DODUCO is worldwide certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.
Due to various requirements within the automotive
industry, parts of the company are also certified in
ISO/TS 16949. In addition, the factories in Pforzheim and Sinsheim are certified in the environmental standard DIN ISO 14001 and in the energy
management standard DIN ISO 50001. In the field
of precious metal recycling DODUCO is certified
in accordance to EfbV, the German Ordinance on
specialized waste management companies and
also to the CFSI as a conflict free smelter of gold.
As a member of the LBMA (London Bullion Market
Association) “Good delivery list” the company guarantees the highest quality requirements in manufacturing silver bars.
The Pforzheim DODUCO Co. was founded in 1922
by Dr. Eugen Dürrwächter. The company founder
started with a gold and silver refinery for the jewelry
industry in Pforzheim.
In 1930 he established the factory at Pforzheim for
the production of semi-finished precious metal products, contact materials and contact parts.
Since 1941 DODUCO is also represented in Sinsheim and since 1976 with a plant in Madrid, Spain.
In 1971 the business group Thurn and Taxis acquired the majority.
In 1996 DODUCO was taken over by Technitrol,
who integrated the German company with already existing North American companies into its international operating electrical contacts products
segment. The new segment of Technitrol was operating since 1998 under the worldwide name AMI
DODUCO.
In July 1998 AMI DODUCO took over the Mexican
company Metales y Contactos S.A.
In November 1999 the company Tianjin Electrical
Metal Works in China was acquired.
Since September 2010 AMI DODUCO’s locations
in Europe and Asia belong to Tinicum Capital Partners II (Tinicum) and JP Asia Partners. The company
operates under the traditional name DODUCO.
