2015 - Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix
2015 Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Sponsorship Opportunities A Race Where Everybody Wins! The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix, presented by the Greater Pittsburgh Automobile Dealers Foundation, is recognized world-‐
wide as our country’s largest vintage racing event and the only one held on city streets. 150 racers compete over a treacherous 2.3 mile circuit lined with hay bales, stone walls, phone poles and curbs. They participate for the sheer joy of vintage racing with no prize money, but they are all winners to us. In 2015, we present a 10 day festival of vintage racing, car shows and motorsport activities. 200,000 spectators attend our Schenley Park weekend and nearly a quarter million witness the entire race week. Please sponsor or participate in our event and be a winner too! 1,200 volunteers give their time to organize and stage this incredible 10-‐day event. These dedicated volunteers work year round to constantly improve the event and increase the donation to charity. Since 1983 Grand Prix has donated nearly $4 million to charity. The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association’s mission is to produce a world-‐class vintage racing event to raise funds for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School. These two fine organizations have partnered with us since 1983. The foremost voice and resource of the nation’s autism community Autism is a neurological disorder that impairs behavior and communication. More than 4,000 families in Southwestern PA have children with autism. These families are often overwhelmed by the enormous task of discerning and providing for their complex needs. Existing solely on donated funds, The Autism Society of Pittsburgh addresses the needs of these children through a comprehensive array of information, advocacy and referral services, which are provided to their families by the caring professionals and service providers who work with them. This includes creating, developing and improving programs and approaches in diagnosis, treatment, education, training and social adjustment. Typical are the SPEAK Program (Summer Program for the Education of Autistic Kids) which has served over 1,500 children since 1974 and Spectrum Charter School now in its fifth year, combining classroom education with on-‐site job training so students age 13-‐21 can graduate into competitive employment. The Autism Society of Pittsburgh is a chapter of the Autism Society of America. Life-‐long opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities The mission of Allegheny Valley School (AVS) is to provide quality programs and facilities to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live with purpose and dignity, and to provide opportunities and choices for them to grow and function at their full potential as independently as possible. AVS has been providing services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 1960. Founded in a spirit of compassion, Patricia Hillman Miller established AVS to care for 10 children for whom a closing orphanage, The Pittsburgh Home for Babies, had been unable to find adoptive families. Today, AVS provides a home and vital services to more than 900 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Most clients also have multiple physical disabilities, medical complications and some have behavioral management needs. Residents live in carefully supervised settings including community group homes, campus environments, apartments and family living/life sharing arrangements. Each person is cared for with individualized services ranging from physical, occupational and communication therapies to special education and vocational training. AVS is headquartered in Coraopolis, PA and operates more than 125 programs and facilities in Allegheny, Beaver, Bucks, Butler, Dauphin, Lebanon, Mercer, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties. 2015 Race Week Schedule Our Race Week events raise awareness and build excitement for the featured car shows and vintage races through the streets of Schenley Park on the July 18 & 19 weekend.
