Granby Ranch Wedding FAQs
Do you provide a wedding coordinator?
Granby Ranch will help you put together your timeline for the day, coordinate the rehearsal and the ceremony, as well as
pick the perfect layout, linen color, and napkin fold. On the day of your wedding, we will provide setup and breakdown for
the ceremony and reception site (excluding décor), as well as lay the linens, flatware, and glassware. Granby Ranch does
not coordinate flowers, decorations, music, or other vendors. Some of our wedding parties choose to hire a wedding
coordinator for these details.
How much is the deposit, when is it due, and is it refundable?
The deposit is 50% of the site fee and is due along with a signed contract to book your day. The site fee is not refundable or
transferable. The remainder of your site fee is due 2 months before the ceremony, and the final guest count is due 3 weeks
before ceremony date, and balance of your invoice must be paid.
Can I bring outside catering or bar service?
Granby Ranch exclusively provides all food and beverages for our property. We have a wide range of menu options for a
buffet up to 200, or plated dinner up to 144 along with delicious appetizers and desserts. We are happy to provide you with
a catering menu to help you create a vision for your perfect day.
Can I bring a cake from an outside vendor?
Yes! We do not have an in-house pastry chef, but we can provide you a list of preferred vendors who make beautiful,
delicious cakes. There is a cake cutting fee if you choose to have our staff expertly cut and serve your cake. We do prefer
you have a licensed vendor.
How much should I expect to pay for catering?
Granby Ranch wants to make every part of your wedding day exactly how you dreamed, including your food! In 2015
Granby Ranch averaged catering costs were $75 per guest. Our pricing is comparable to market catering rates,
but our quality is absolutely above average. Take a look at our wedding catering menu and ask your wedding sales
associate to help you find the right meal for your budget.
Is there a service charge on top of the food and beverage fee?
A 7.9% sales tax, 2.7% resort fee, and 20% service charge will be added to all food and beverages. This industry standard
service charge helps cover the costs of doing business: office staff, utilities, office supplies, day-to-day operations, and so on.
While our contract shows a breakdown of the event elements and food costs, the service charge helps cover the cost of the
hours needed to plan and prepare your event and is paid to the servers of your event as gratuity.
Do you do tastings?
We offer complimentary tasting for the bridal couple and the parents (up to six guests), featuring select items from your
preferred menu. Our chefs can expertly prepare appetizer, entrée and side dish samples paired with a selection of wines or
beers to ensure you make the best choice for your you and your guests. Tastings are scheduled after you book your date,
at least 30 days in advance of your wedding. Our menu is a guideline and is based on availability of product and market
price. Some items or ingredients may be substituted to accommodate budget or dietary restrictions. Your wedding sales
coordinator will communicate tasting availability based on our chef’s schedule.
It rains a lot in the summer. What is your weather plan for the outdoor ceremony?
Colorado weather is variable. Your guests are our first priority, so if there is lightning outside we will have a weather delay. We
work about an hour of delay time into the day just in case, called Plan B. If the inclement weather continues, then we can move
the ceremony to the reception space (with minimal moving of tables), called Plan C.
Can I change the layout of the dining room and bring in my own decorations?
We help you create a layout that works best for you on your big day. We do allow you to bring in your own decorations, flowers,
and so on, but you are solely responsible for setup and breakdown. Decorations must be removed that night after the
reception. Any decorations left at the end of the night will be thrown away. The summer reception area will be ready at 10
a.m. the day of your wedding and the winter reception area at 3 p.m. for you to come in and start decorating.
Can I use open-flame candles?
You can use open-flame candles, but they must be in glass and we ask that whoever is in charge of cleaning them up at night
is super careful. If wax gets on the floor, then you will be charged a $100 per hour cleaning fee to remove the wax. LED lights
are a great alternative to candles.
