Registration Open for First Men’s ACTS Retreat in
Utah- An ACTS retreat is a three-day event put on by lay
Catholic parishioners. The retreat provides an opportunity
for Christians to come to a deeper relationship with God
through transformative experiences focused on Adoration,
Community, Theology, and Service.
Saint John the Baptist Parish in Draper is hosting the first
Men's ACTS retreat in Utah the evening of Thursday, July
28th until the 11 AM Mass on July 31st at the Wasatch
Retreat Center in Salt Lake City. The first Women's retreat is scheduled to take place the summer of 2017. Registration for the Men's retreat is now open and registration

Registrations for Baptisms or preparation classes
are done in the church office. You must register no later
than Monday before the class and baptism. The preparation
class and baptism are on the same day. The preparation class
starts at 9:00 a.m. in the church followed by the baptisms. If you
are only attending the class, there is a donation of $25.00. After
the class you will receive a letter of completion. If you are
attending the class and baptizing your child, there is a donation
of $50.00 for each child. When registering in the church office,
you will need to pay the donation and bring a copy of the child’s
birth certificate. The next class and baptism is September
24th. The class starts at 9:00am, followed by the baptisms. We
do recommend to register at least one month before the date.
The deadline to register is September 16th.
Please be prepared to pay the exact amount; we do not have
change in the Church office.
Registraciónes para Bautismos. Registre al niño/a
antes del la feche del bautismo preferible un mes con
anticipación. La clase de preparación y el Bautismo serán en el
mismo día. La clase de preparación se inicia a las 9:00 am en
la Parroquia seguido de los Bautismos. Si sólo desea asistir a
la clase, es una donación de $25.00 por pareja y después de la
clase, es que usted recibirá una carta de comprobante de
pláticas. Si va a asistir a la clase de preparación y Bautizar a su
hijo la donación es de $50.00 por cada niño. En el momento
de la registración para un bautismo la donación se debe cubrir
y también de traer una copia del Certificado de Nacimiento del
niño. Por favor venga preparado con la cantidad exacta; ya que
no tenemos cambio en la Oficina Parroquial. La siguiente clase
y los Bautismos son el 3 y 17 de Septiembre. La clase
comienza a las 9:00 am, seguido de los Bautismos. Les
recomendamos que registran un mes antes de la fecha de
bautismo.
El Ultimo día para registrar a su niño es el 26 de Agosto.
FESTIVAL WALK A THON- Once again, the Festival Walk
A Thon will take place on August 28, 2016 at 9:00 AM. This
is our third Annual Walk A Thon to kick off the Parish
Festival, young and old alike are encouraged to participate.
Water will be provided.
The festival is ready to begin! It will take place on the 27th
& 28th of August. The Raffle is starting on the 16th of July.
The Opportunity items for this year are a BBQ grill, Garden
water fountain with an arbor, $1,000.00 in cash, and 2
coolers with liquor. This year we invite our church
parishioners and ministries to donate a themed basket to the
silent auction, this was done years ago and it adds a lot of
variety. We are always in need of donations of bottles of
liquor and canned soda, and water. Please bring them to the
church. If you have questions or need a basket idea please
stop by the raffle on the weekends.
This year the Festival Committee Opportunity Game is a
One Year School Scholarship Valued at $6,000.00 Tickets
are $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00 Tickets are on sale in the
gathering space every weekend after Mass up to and
including the Festival Weekend. The drawing will take place
on the 28th at 5 pm.
The festivals theme this year is Cowboys
and Cowgirls!
Get your cowboys hats and boots ready!

Altar Server Class for English speaking Masses– The
next classes for Altar Servers for the 5:00pm, 9:30am and

The Knights of Columbus Announcement- Each
year the International Supreme Convention is held during the first week in August and is held in a different hotel throughout the United States and abroad. The following week, the Fourth Degree Supreme Convention
along with the Supreme Board of Directors hold their
Fourth (4th) Degree Convention. At that time newly
elected District Masters are appointed throughout the
country. Several candidates from the State of Utah
Knights of Columbus submitted their resumes and portfolios to the Fourth Degree District Master and the Vice
Supreme Master. This process to be nominated for the
position as Utah District Master started in April 2016.
St. Francis Xavier Parish Knights of Columbus are
proud to announce that one of our own Brother Knights
and Sir Knight has been chosen to be Utah District
Master. It is our honor as Knights of Columbus to inform the parishioners that V.J. Simonelli has been chosen to be the new Utah District Master. On behalf of all
the members of the Knights of Columbus we extend our
congratulations to a well-deserved and dedicated Brother Knight. We all wish him well in his new position. -St.
