MOTHER GOOSE (Pre-walkers)
PRE-SCHOOL
(2 - 5 yrs old) - Tuesdays @ 10:30 am.
Join us for stories, fingerplays and a craft.
Parents can drop off children, but they must
stay in the library.
(Birth–18 months) – Thursdays @ 10:30 a.m.
This program’s primary aim is to introduce rhymes,
songs, fingerplays and books to babies and their
caregivers.
Parent/caregiver participation required.
MOSTLY MOTHER GOOSE
(18 mos - 36 mos. yrs old) - Mondays@ 10:30 am.
Join us for stories, fingerplays and a craft.
Parents can drop off children, but they must stay in
the library.

NANCY DREW MYSTERY MIXER
WED. APRIL 23 @ 6:00 P.M.
MAPLE SUGARING
MONDAY, MARCH 3 @ 4:30 P.M.
Join the Nature Place Camp as we tap
a maple tree and taste the amber
aristocrat of all sweets, maple syrup! We’ll learn
about the history of maple sugaring, beginning with
local Native Americans, and proceed to how we can
make maple syrup from trees in our very own
backyards. We’ll show participants how to identify
a maple tree and we’ll go outside and actually tap
one, hanging a bucket underneath the spout to
collect sap. Each child that attends this event will
leave with their own maple sugaring spout and
instructions on how to tap a maple tree to make
maple syrup at home.
Jesse’s cell phone has been stolen from his locker at
River Heights High. The thief has it and is keeping it his
his or her after-school job. Based on the clues, figure out where
he or she works to find the cell phone! Ages 8+

Are you looking to spruce up your bedroom? Make your
own artsy frame by being creative with simple supplies.

CELEBRATE EARTH DAY

Make a refillable bird feeder using recycled items to make a
long lasting bird feeder. Ages 6+.

You choose which craft you want to make. Help
returning birds rebuild their springtime nests with
easy household items. Construct a bird feeder from grocery
store items. Ages 6+. Registration is required.

“BUBBLE TROUBLE”

A bubble volcano, a bubble roller coaster, a kid in a bubble? Jeff Boyer
takes bubbles to the max in this one-man bubble extravaganza. It’s the
craziest, most creative bubble show around! Jeff juggles bubbles, sculpts
and builds with bubbles, makes fog filled bubbles and more. Mixing comedy, music and
interactive bubble magic, he engages and delights audiences of all ages. It’s a hit everywhere
there’s air.
MARCIA THE MAGICAL MOOSE
THURSDAY, APRIL 17 @ 11:00 A.M.
AGES 1 YR– 7 YRS
It’s an animal puppet show and silly magic! Join us as we welcome back
Marcia The Musical Moose: The Magical Forest! Transported to a Magical
Forest and given a “Magic Tickle Ball” by his fairy Godmother, ridiculous
things happen to feisty little “Mort the Moose” as he struggles to figure out the “Magic
Word” (hint please!).
LAST TUESDAY OF EACH MONTH 3:30 P.M.—5:00 P.M.
Annmarie will be available to help with tech related questions using
your e-reader, iPad or other device to download e-books, music and
digital magazines with your Sloatsburg Library card. Sloatsburg patrons
will be helped on a first come, first served basis.

THE PARTING GLASS BAND
SUNDAY, MAY 18 @ 1:00 P.M.
SUNDAY, MARCH 9 @ 1:00 P.M.
Put a little music in your St. Patrick’s Day celebration
with The Parting Glass Band. Al Gessner, owner of Al’s
Music Shop in Port Jervis NY, along with his wife Patti
and Kevin McComb, perform Irish folk, Celtic and other
traditional fare. They play the songs of the Clancy
Brothers, Dubliners, and Wolfe Tones. Registration is
required. Refreshments will be served.
Tenor Salvatore Chiarelli, a New York
City native with a dramatic tenor voice was vocally
trained in both Italy and Manhattan for the opera
stage. He has performed as a soloist on satellite
television reaching seventy five countries around
the world. He performs Neopolitan songs, opera
and musical theater. Registration is required.
Refreshments will be served.

SCRAPBOOKING WORKSHOP

Showcase your special memories with a
scrapbook. Crafter Carolyn Travers will show you how to
use professional tools, stickers, die-cuts and paper.
Participants must bring their own pictures, all supplies will
be provided, but feel free to bring your own.
This course is open to all NYS licensed drivers. You may
receive a 10% discount on auto insurance and reduce up to 3
points from your license. A $36 non-refundable fee is due at signup. Please make checks payable to Yolanda Lewi.

part workshop , you will learn to outline and paint glass
art accents to create a beautiful candle holder. All materials will be

Seeds are marvelous little packages of plants just
waiting to grow up in your garden. This presentation given by
Master Gardeners, Donna DeSousa & Marge Hersh will discuss
how and when to start seeds indoors and how to nurture the
seedlings until they are ready to plant outdoors. It will also cover
how and when to sow seeds directly into your garden.
Master Gardeners, Donna DeSousa and Eileen Bradford will
show you that the possibilities are endless and oh so inviting!
Edible Landscaping is a beautiful, sustainable and tasty
alternative to traditional landscaping. Many trees, shrubs and
herbaceous plants with edible parts can serve the same function
as ornamentals and look just as good. Explore ways of adding
fruit, vegetables and herbs to your existing beds, borders and
containers.

Master Gardener Vivienne Dieckmann will show you that even
without a large garden, organically grown vegetables are possible
on patios, balconies and decks. By using the right container, rich
soil, proper water techniques and maximum sunlight, lettuce,
tomatoes, carrots and many more vegetables are steps away from
the kitchen. With the addition of colorful annuals, crops in pots
are attractive elements to the landscape.
With Master Gardeners, Cliff Elton and Peter Weiss, learn
how to use natural stone, pavers and artificial stone to
construct dry free -standing and retaining stone walls, walkways
and other hardscapes. This class will provide the do-ityourselfer with some of the basics of hardscape design and
planning that result in functional convenience and visual
appeal while still respecting the softer elements in your overall
landscape.
