Chairman of the Board
Dear Fellow Chamber Members,
Love is in the air and “Your” Chamber is busy preparing for some exciting
events this month! Remember, FEBRUARY 14th is on a Sunday this year
and I highly suggest you check out all the great restaurants, venues, florists
and romantic spots in the Clear Lake area and make plans or purchases
early. The great thing about Valentine’s Day being on a Sunday is you
have Friday, Saturday and Sunday to surprise, impress and show that
special someone how much you care. Keep in mind how important it
is to “Buy Into Bay Area” and shop local from your neighbors and fellow
Chamber members. When we support each other, we all win.
The highly anticipated and delicious Epicurean Evening “A Taste of
Space” is right around the corner, coming up Thursday, February 4th at
Space Center Houston. Once again this community tailored event is sold
out of booth space with over 40 wonderful food and beverage booths
highlighting their culinary delights and expertise. Expect great fun,
entertainment and stellar deals to be had at the silent auction. Make plans
to attend and bring as many family and friends as you can. Don’t forget
you can get tickets online and save money by purchasing early.
Since it is the month of Love, Cupid will be on the lake Saturday, February 13th along with other area boaters
to make up the 54th Annual League City Cupid’s Christmas Boat Lane Parade on Clear Lake sponsored by
the City of Kemah. As you might recall, the weather did not cooperate for the parade scheduled in December,
so we are sailing forward with this fabulous event this month instead. Calling all boaters!! We are still signing
up boats of all shapes and sizes and WANT YOU to sign up and join in on the fun! Please pass the word, post
on facebook and forward this new date to your friends and family to be a part of one of the Bay Area’s most
exciting traditions.
The Leadership Clear Lake program will begin August of this year. If you have an exceptional employee or staff
member that you are continually developing to be a dynamic and productive community leader as well as an
increased asset to your business, you should seriously consider signing him or her up for this worthwhile and life
changing class. Also remember that the Spring Fever Golf Classic will be coming up soon and you should begin
to think about putting together a team and getting involved as a sponsor. There are plenty of opportunities to
come out and enjoy some great “Chamber of Commerce” weather to showcase your business. You only get out
of your chamber what you put into it. I look forward to seeing you at the next event, luncheon, mixer or just
around the lake.
