Here - Epiphany Church
March 15, 2015
Fourth Sunday of Lent
We are now past the halfway point of Lent. How are your Lenten practices going? Did you know it’s
not too late to start? Indeed, the message of today’s liturgy is just that—the captives in Babylon are released, and
“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” If God’s love is so great, it’s even enough for those of us who
got a late start on Lent. It’s never too late to turn to the Lord.
The Most Blessed Sacrament is reserved in this Church.
We respectfully request that a reverent silence and appropriate attire be observed by ALL.

Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration 1992-2015
From the Diary Divine Mercy in My Soul, by St. M. Faustina Kowalska of the Blessed Sacrament:
The mercy of God, hidden in the Blessed Sacrament, the voice of the Lord who speaks to us from the throne of mercy: Come to Me, all
of you...
Behold, for you I have established a throne of mercy on earth — the tabernacle — and from this throne I desire to enter into your heart. I
am not surrounded by a retinue of guards. You can come to me at any moment, at any time; I want to speak to you and I desire to grant
you grace.
...You left us Yourself in the Sacrament of the Altar, and You opened wide Your mercy to us. There is no misery that could exhaust You;
You have called us all to this fountain of love, to this spring of God's compassion. Here is the tabernacle of Your mercy, here is the remedy for all our ills. To You, O living spring of mercy, all souls are drawn; some like deer, thirsting for Your love, others to wash the
wound of their sins and still others, exhausted by life, to draw strength.

It is NOT based on the need of the Church, but on OUR
need to give based on OUR relationship with God. It is
an internal part of OUR spiritual lives, and we give out
of OUR gratitude to God for what WE have received.

Catholic Relief Service Rice Bowl -- Hungering for Peace We journey with CRS Rice Bowl to Lebanon to be present to a people who themselves are on a journey. Here we meet a family of Syrian refugees, a family perhaps not so unlike
our own. We are challenged through our almsgiving this week to reach out to those who are forced to flee their homes, who
are seeking shelter in a land of peace.
Parish Youth Choir will lead the singing at the 11:00 am Mass on Easter Sunday. Rehearsals will be held on Saturday mornings (March 21, 28 and April 4) from 10:00 - 11:00 am in the Epiphany Church choir loft.
Celebrate Our Catholic Schools, As families register their students for the upcoming school year, consider becoming an Academic Angel!
Your contribution is an investment in a child’s future…the outcomes speak for themselves. Our schools
offer an instructional environment that challenges the mind, while inspiring and strengthening the spirit. Please
consider supporting our students for the 2015-16 school year; you can designate the gift as a memorial or honor of
someone special, select a particular school to receive it, or let us put it to where it is needed the most. Contributions can be sent to Epiphany School, 627 Stevenson Street, Sayre, PA 18840.
Eucharistic Minister Commissioning Last weekend during the 5:00 Mass, we commissioned Bob Dillinger as a Eucharistic Minister for service in our parish. Bob has answered God’s call to serve in this important parish ministry. We ask all parishioners to keep him in your prayers. We welcome and encourage members of our
parish to consider becoming Eucharistic Ministers. Anyone interested/willing, please contact Ralph Meyer at 8889594 or [email protected]
120th Anniversary of Our Lady of Perpetual Help We are making up a memory booklet for the 120th
anniversary celebration at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Share your inspirational or humorous memory of
OLPH. Pictures are welcome if they correspond with the memory, but they are not necessary. Recent recollections or stories passed through generations are welcome. E-mail Maureen Wright at [email protected].
(Don't forget the dot in the e-mail address). You may also call her at 570-888-5931 and tell her your story, or send
your memory to Maureen's attention at 3273 Wolcott Hollow Road, Athens, PA 18810. Please respond by April
