The Red Kepis of the Civil War were designed
to be easily spotted from a distance (which
might explain why only artillery men were
allowed to wear them.) Our Red Kepi Ale is
also easy to identify. This malt-forward,
balanced red ale features subtle fruity notes
and is sure to please, whether you’re a craft
beer aficionado or you just like a tasty brew.
How did Red Kepi become the great ale it is?
Justin Ortleib and Mike Allen of Union
Station Grill worked closely with Jeff and Joe
Harless and brewer Tug McGall from JoBoy’s
Brew Pub in manheim to begin formalizing a
recipe for this unique beer. Taste tests of
various brews were conducted with our team,
then field tested with local patrons. All that
hard work paid off with a house ale we’re
proud to call our own.
Of course, the only way to really appreciate
Red Kepi Ale is to try one yourself. Once you
do, you’ll be getting your Kepi on again and
again.
