TRANSFER FROM ROME TO MATERA
DAY 1 (Saturday)
Travel from Rome into the beautiful Puglia region of
southeastern Italy. We will visit the St. Nicolas Cathedral in
the historic center of Bari. Then we will get to know each
other sharing a welcome meal at Spops. After, we will travel
to Matera and check into our hotel. (Lunch)
MATERA
DAY 2 (Sunday)
Settle into Italy while enjoying and
exploring Matera. At 4 pm, we will
gather and take a relaxing Sunday
stroll. Our guide will take us through
“I Sassi,” the historic center of
Matera, the oldest living city in the
world.We dine together in the cave
dwellings of “I Sassi”. (Breakfast, Dinner)
POLIGNANO A MARE
& PIZZA NIGHT
DAY 5 (Wednesday)
Stop in Polignano a Mare, and take
a boat ride on the Adriatic Sea –
the best way to get a real feel of
this beautiful coastline.With our feet
on dry land, we will tour the historic center and stop for lunch.
We will then head back to the hotel to relax before to dinner.
It’s pizza night! Miyoko is making mozzarella and ricotta, and
vegan pizza will never be the same! We will be pairing these
with beers for a tasting. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
LECCE
DAY 6 (Thursday)
ALBEROBELLO
DAY 3 (Monday)
See and learn about Trulli huts – “another treasure of
Puglia” – in Alberobello, where the majority of them are.
Besides hearing some of its history, we will visit an oil press,
and then travel to our masseria in Pezzo di Greco. Miyoko
will share her first demo on pasta! Then our group dinner
will include live music tonight. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

MARTINA FRANCA
DAY 4 (Tuesday)
Spend the whole day in local
winery Cantico dei Calic.We
will visit the original house
“masseria” to get a better idea
of how people lived in 1700.The group will work with Miyoko
to pair wines and vegan cheeses for a tasting. After we will
enjoy a full lunch, take a tour of the vineyards, and see how
wine is made – the perfect Italian day. (Breakfast, Lunch)
‘The Florence of the South’ is what they call the beautiful
Barocco city of Lecce.Today, we walk and shop on the
market street followed by a cooking lesson with local
mammas.Then we are guests at a historical residence to
prepare our lunch.There will be free time to explore Lecce
also.We will share another great communal dinner back at
the hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
MASSERIA
DAY 7 (Friday)
We are spending our last day in
the beautiful masseria – it’s your
choice to go swimming in a pool
or bike riding in the countryside.
This will be followed by a formal
cooking lesson with Miyoko. After
lunch, people can visit and/or pack
before we end the trip cooking dinner together. (Breakfast,
Lunch, Dinner)
TRANSFER TO ROME
DAY 8 (Saturday)
We will all take the train to Rome together in the morning.
