Diana – Princess of Hearts I
Diana Spencer’s early life
Diana, Princess of Wales, was perhaps the most famous and adored member of the
British royal family of our time. Born on July 1, 1961, she was the daughter of Edward
John Spencer and Frances Ruth Burke Roche. Her parents divorced when she was
young. Diana was educated at Riddlesworth Hall near Diss, Norfolk and later went to
West Heath School, a boarding school in Sevenoaks, Kent. She was consistently
regarded as a relatively poor student, having failed to reach even lower levels for
several times.
In 1975 her father inherited the title Earl of Spencer and Diana became Lady Diana
derga
Spencer. After finishing school in Switzerland, she became a kindergarten
teacher in
a
London. She showed an interest for dancing and music, but she was also
known for
her shyness.
Her marriage and divorce

During the following years Princess Diana
began to work for charities. She worked to
help people living with AIDS and homeless
children, for example.
But she and Prince Charles became
estranged over the years, and the press
reported infidelities from both.
Diana had to struggle with depression and
bulimia. It was no surprise to the public
when the couple’s separation was
announced in December 1992. Four years
later they were divorced.
