Many motorists believe that their protection is adequate because their cars have immobilizers, but these only protect
against theft of the vehicle. Break-ins and theft are just as
large a problem, and in addition, theft of older cars, not fitted
with immobilizers, presents a problem.
Theft from cars is, unfortunately, a very common experience. Such valuables as holiday luggage, sporting equipment,
Christmas presents, PCs, cameras, wallets or mobile phones

excess must I pay? What about all of the content in the PC,
the pictures in the camera or the address lists in the mobile

Not just financial losses follow a vehicle break-in. It is also
both unpleasant and frustrating. It devours time, money and
causes annoyance: you must report it to the police and your
insurance company. You must also document the items that
have been stolen, and that you want compensation for. Many
people have experienced disturbed work routines, sleepless
nights or reduced pleasure from their holidays following a
break-in. You can be both surprised and dejected by how cheeky thieves sometimes can be. It isn’t uncommon for them to
break into a vehicle in plain daylight.

feature is alarms over SMS - the first step towards mobile
two-way communication with the car.
Visit your local dealer, who will help you to find the alarm
system that suits you and your car best. When an alarm is installed, your car windows are marked with DEFA stickers that
make it clear that your car is protected in a professional and
adequate manner. A LED is fitted in the windscreen, which
flashes when the alarm has been activated. The alarm siren
can be varied with 6 different alternatives, making it easier to
distinguish your alarm from others.
DEFA AutoSecurity has been approved by the most stringent approval bodies in Europe, and the car alarms, naturally
enough, meet EU and insurers’ requirements. We also carry
out regular testing at accredited laboratories in Norway and
abroad.
The basic models sound the alarm when doors, the boot lid
and bonnet are opened, and when the ignition is hot-wired.
A glass breakage monitor sounds the alarm if a window is
broken. The ”WatchDog” function produces low-level siren
sounds when an attempted break-in is detected through the
car windows.
