Homecoming
Sunday will be October
4th. Former pastor, Dr.
Phil Hoskins, will be our
guest speaker during both
services. Due to two
services, the homecoming
fellowship will be different
this year. See details
elsewhere in this
publication. Because we
are in two services, we will
be able to invite some
former members that are
now serving in other
churches. They will be able
to come to the 8:30 service
and still get to their
church. Help us get the
word out to all former
members and friends of
Antioch.
As I conclude, just let
me tell you how much I
appreciate your prayers as
we walk in this journey with
my sister. She is now with
Hospice and I am spending
as much time in West
Tennessee as I can to be
with her. Your prayers,
offers to help, and words of
encouragement mean more
than I can ever tell you. Lori
and I love you all and I
count it a high privilege to
be your pastor. Have a
blessed September!
Expectantly,
Pastor Pete

WEDNESDAY FAMILY NIGHT
Adult bible study starts on Sept. 16th
at 7pm. We’ll study the book of Hebrews
which paints a picture of a big Jesus…
bigger than our problems, our doubts, or
our enemies. The author pleads with us
not to drift from Him or abandon Him.
That easily happens when we forget about
the greatness of Christ, and when we no
longer marvel at what He did for us on
the cross and through His resurrection.
We ask questions when circumstances
get tough, when God seems distant, and
when the cries of our heart seem to fall on
deaf ears. Does God even care? Why is
He so silent? Is this Jesus thing even
worth it? It was in such an environment
that the book of Hebrews was written. It
can be a difficult book to understand, yet
it’s full of encouragement. It keeps
pointing us back to Jesus, and reminding
us to anchor our souls to Jesus.
YOUTH MINISTRY
Youth Lock-In
Fri, Sept. 18th, @ 6pm.
We’ll stay at the church all
night and play games,
watch a movie, have dinner
& snacks. Possible guest appearance from
Jordan Copas! Students please bring
sleeping bags and pillows, plus anything
else you need to stay over night at the
church. Students should be picked up
the following Saturday morning by
7:30am. A small breakfast will be
provided.
DISCOVERING GOD’S DESIGN
“A conversation on social issues.”
Offered by First Christian Church on
Sept. 25th and 26th. In recognition of the
pressures churches & individuals face amid
the sexuality expression trends in America
today, these social trends will be discussed.
Alliance Defending Freedom and Joe Dallas
will help to better frame these issues and
gain a biblical perspective.
HOMECOMING
Sunday, October 4th
What should you bring? NOTHING! With
our construction improvements and being
in two services, we decided it would be best
to have a brief fellowship between services
so that ALL may attend. The church will
provide brunch-type appetizers, coffee, tea,
juice, & water. We will have three identical
serving stations and hosts to guide you
along the way, so just come, worship, and
enjoy the day.
FAMILY PROMISE
New volunteer training conducted at
Harrison Christian Church on Sun, Oct.
25th. A program overview will be given for
all adults at 9:30-10:15am in the sanctuary.
Worship will begin at 10:30am until 12:00
noon. We’ll have lunch in the fellowship
hall, then training will begin after the meal
until about 3:30pm. Members of other
churches are invited to come for lunch as
soon as possible after your church service.
Mentoring Program training will be given at
a later date.
