Welcome to May, Church!
Can you believe the winter is
over? It has been a busy but
productive winter for the
church staff and our key
Administrative Teams as we
plan for the future. By the time
you receive this newsletter, you
will have heard at our business
conference the decisions we
have to make if we are to move
ahead with the renovation.
Further in this article, I will
give you some key dates to look
toward. In the meantime, here
are some upcoming events that
you need to get on your
calendar and be planning.
 Heritage Day, May 3 - Join
us in honoring our faithful
senior adult group for their
years of service that have
made what we do and
experience today at Antioch
possible. There will be a
special service filled with
some of their favorite
hymns, songs by the Larson
Family, and a special message
called “A Life Well Lived.”
 Mother’s Day Weekend Our women’s ministry team
is sponsoring a special
Garden Party for the ladies
of the church featuring “Mrs.
Older,” Marie Armenia.
Successful writer, musician,
and prolific blogger, Marie
has much to say to both
older and younger women.
The Garden Party will be
Saturday, May 9, from 11-1.
Then, on Sunday, she and
her husband, Phil, will lead
us in worship prior to her
speaking to all of us on the
special role of moms in
today’s world.
 Membership Orientation May 17, Pastor Lewy will be
leading a membership
orientation after church for
those who have joined the
church and those considering
it. Contact Lewy for more
info. (contact info on page 4)
 Graduate Recognition Student Pastor, Brandon
Burleson, will lead us in a
special day of recognition for
our high school and college
graduates. Brandon will
preach that day and we will
recognize former staff
member, Justin Blair, by
licensing him to the gospel
ministry ahead of an
ordination this fall.
 Mark My Words - In this
year that we are celebrating
the Bible by reading through
it together, you are invited to
a dramatic reading of the
Gospel of Mark in Founders
Park in downtown Johnson
City. It will be presented
twice, on May 17 & 24, from
5-7 each time. As we pray for
our city, we need to support
this public presentation of
the gospel. Join me in
attending one or both of
those days.

 Looking ahead to June Begin to pray now for our
Children’s Camp (June 3-6)
and for our week hosting our
friends from Family Promise
(June 14-20). Get our annual
church picnic on your family
calendar for June 28 as well.
Now, let me change gears and
urge you to familiarize yourself
with the proposal from the
Property Team and the
Leadership Team about our
renovation project. In the next
few days, you will get a letter
with the details and our attempt
to answer your questions. Take
note of the times you are
offered to ask questions
publicly and also speak to our
Property Team members
informally. Our goal is not to
make this thing happen, but to
hear the will of God so please
be praying. The info we mail
you will also be available on the
church web page as well as on
our church facebook page. The
decision will be made officially
in a vote on Sunday morning,
May 31. You do your part to
get ready for that and pray,
pray, pray.
As always, I really do believe
the best is yet to come. Lori
and I are honored to be able to
serve you during these days.
We love you.
