Resort at the Mountain Meeting Guide
O
regon high country.
No surprise to many.
A delight to all. Here the
rugged beauty of the glaciertopped Cascade Mountain
range yields to countless
sparkling waterfalls, breathtaking cliffs and gorges, lush
forest greenery. And ultimately
to the Willamette Valley’s
fertile farms and foliage. This
unique environment provides
a stunning back-drop and a
natural catalyst for creative
meetings and events. In fact,
the setting is inspirational.
Guide to Meetings & Events
Mt. Hood. Naturally.
Mt. Hood, Oregon
A destination rich in history, diverse
in culture, and steeped in Native
American folklore and tradition.
For centuries it has inspired many
and has been the place to meet,
meditate, contemplate, recreate and
relish nature’s splendor.
H
istoric tales of the Mt. Hood
Territory stretch back to Pioneer
days along the OregonTrail and Barlow
Road. The development of Welches,
Oregon (and subsequently The Resort)
has equally colorful and deeply personal
family roots, making for a truly homegrown road-trip tradition passed down
over three generations. It evolves
still today. Come experience the
mesmerizing grandeur of Mt. Hood –
that indescribable feeling one has when
surrounded by lush evergreen forest,
majestic mountains, exhilarating waterfalls,
clear Hood River Valley waterways
and equally dazzling starlit nights.

I
The Resort
at The Mountain–
a tasteful blend of subtle
sophistication and casual comfort.
A
rrive at The Resort and relish the flowing
layout of the grounds as open and inviting
as Oregon’s high country. At every turn guests
are visually drawn toward one of the area’s
magnificent natural attractions. Rich woods and
warm, welcoming colors accent The Resort’s
upscale lodge-like atmosphere. Guest rooms,
suites and villas feature complementing hues
and textures…creating a distinctly residential
look and feel. At The Resort guests may indulge
their senses at either of two restaurants
and lounges. And dine indoors or out while
enjoying tranquil forest, fairway or mountain
views. Private guest room patios and decks
reveal splendid and equally pristine views, ideal
for simultaneously savoring room service and
breathing in crisp, clean mountain air.
t’s all here – 157 spacious
guest rooms, suites and
villas and 15,000 square
feet of diverse, flexible and
acoustically balanced interior
event space. Plus aweinspiring outdoor areas…
all enhanced by exquisite
culinary creations and a
myriad of seasonal on and
off-site recreation options
including the best 46 holes of
golf in the Mt. Hood Territory.
As well as a full-service 5,000
square foot Spa. The outdoor
swimming pool is enclosed
and heated seasonally.
Relish the comfort and style of guest
rooms, suites and villas
All guest accommodations boast valued high
and low-tech amenities ranging from Simmons®
Beautyrest Black™ Beverly Hills™ Plush
memory foam bedding wrapped in luxury
linens, an alarm clock with connection for Apple
mobile devices and MP3 player, Green Natüra
bath amenities, 42” wall-mounted HDTV, laptop
computer safe and much more. Each features
a patio or deck offering forested courtyard or
pool view. And whether guest rooms, suites or
villas, all are conveniently situated within easy
walking distance of other Resort facilities,
enveloped by 300 acres of evergreen forest and
lush mountain flora.
Savor delightfully original cuisine
mallards café & pub is the ideal seasonal Resort
venue where guests may savor familiar fare,
comfortable surroundings and scenic golf
course views. Patio dining is exceptional. And
Altitude delivers a lovely but still casual dining
experience featuring progressive cuisine with
ethnic influences while incorporating fresh local
and regional bounty. Altitude’s lounge offers an
equally desirable haven for refreshing libations
and small plates. Of course, there’s Room
Service for thoroughly laid-back dining. Plus
Wee Bite – grab ‘n’ go snacks for the golfer or
casual passer-by.
Experience The Courses’
46 golf holes
The Courses, The Resort at
The Mountain’s 27-hole golf
course nestled in the Salmon
River Valley of the lush Mt.
Hood National Forest, is
open for play year ‘round.
A Certified Audubon
Cooperative Sanctuary, The
Courses is dedicated to
fostering and preserving its
vibrant ecosystem. Golfers
will witness the results
of award-winning efforts
in restoring bird and fish
habitats along the Wee Burn
stream, a tributary to the
wild and scenic Salmon River.
Here, the area’s abundant
vegetation and wildlife,
pristine and revitalizing
streams, and unmatched blue
skies converge to offer a
backdrop for what will surely
be a memorable golf round
(or two or three).
For not-so-serious golfers,
there is The Greens – The
Resort’s natural turf 18-hole
(plus one playoff hole) lighted
putting course designed for
solo fun, family activity or
friendly competition among
meeting-goers.
Calm all the way down at The Spa
The Spa combines natural elements
found in mountain flora with
healing traditions of indigenous
inspired cultures. The full-service
5,000 square foot facility features
seven treatment rooms including
three massage rooms, skin care
treatment room, wet treatment
room with a Vichy shower, deluxe
couples treatment room with an
oversized two-person soaking tub
and manicure/pedicure room. Also
awaiting Spa guests are separate
steam rooms for men and women
plus a relaxation area with a stone
fireplace and the Infiniti Tea Garden.
Enjoy The Resort’s
environmental projects
and accolades
The Wee Burn Stream Restoration
Project was undertaken in 1995.
Dredging the pond, adding
hundreds of indigenous logs and
boulders as well as returning a
meander pattern to parts of the
stream vastly improved access
for the Coho and Steelhead. The
planting of thousands of native
trees and shrubs provides fish
additional protection and food
sources. Long-term monitoring
and maintenance ensure the
project’s continuing success.
Extensive habitat restoration
and environmentally sensitive
operations have earned The
Courses recognition as a Certified
Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
Of 16,000 golf courses in the
United States, only 2,300 are so
designated. Awarded in 2002,
the certification is based on
environmental excellence including
water conservation, wildlife and
habitat management.
Revel in flexible and
plentiful event space
Ideally suited for groups
from 5 to 750, The Resort’s
facilities combine function
with comfort and convenience.
Thirteen meeting and banquet
rooms are located in the
Main Lodge and the East Side
Complex. Hospitality suites
and suitably sized space for
small groups are available
throughout the property.
And outdoor venues abound.
Expansive windows in nearly
all event rooms allow year
‘round inspiring views of lush
forest and majestic mountains
as well as soothing, fragrant
valley breezes. Additionally,
outdoor areas provide pictureperfect venues for professional
or social events.
T
he Resort at The Mountain’s meeting
and event experiences will be
remembered by how well the five senses
– sight, smell, taste, touch and sound –
are stimulated. This requires personal,
experienced attention to every detail.
At The Resort at The Mountain, you will
find associates committed to exceeding
the needs, wants and expectations of our
guests.
And when it comes to banquets and
theme events, we understand these are
more than social occasions – they are
essential to the success of your program.
Our conference planning managers
excel in creating scrumptious menus
complemented by inspired sights and
sounds.
