MAJIT-GORION
ANNUAL
ALOHA AWARD
the aunty sharon
majit-gorion
annual aloha award
nomination criteria
The Aunty Sharon Majit-Gorion Annual
Aloha Award is presented to three separate
groups representing areas significant to
Aunty Sharon’s life and her community work.
“I want others to know there is hope.
If I can do it, so can they.”
-Aunty Sharon, 2006
Hui Mālama O Ke Kai (HMK) is
accepting nominations for the Aunty
Sharon Majit-Gorion Annual Aloha
Award.
This award is presented in honor and
memory of Aunty Sharon who was a Hui
Mālama O Ke Kai program founder,
advisor, and supporter. She sat on our
foundation’s Board of Directors and was a
significant partner to the Hui Mālama O
Ke Kai Foundation (through Queen
Liliuokalani Children’s Center).
Aunty Sharon had a prolific love and
passion for the youth, families and
community of Waimānalo. When you
were in her presence you felt loved and
inspired. This award aims to perpetuate
the legacy of Aunty Sharon’s aloha.
The Aunty Sharon Majit-Gorion Annual
Aloha Award is awarded to those who
exhibit the values Aunty
Sharon lived by, especially
those who inspire positive
change in others.
Nominations for each award will be
considered by the HMK program staff, the
award committee and HMKF Board of
Directors. Winners will be recognized and
presented with an award at the annual Hui
Mālama O Ke Kai Hō’ike on May 23rd, 2012.
