Welkom bij deze nieuwsflits.
Naast een aankondiging voor het komende FS Weekend hebben we ook een (Engelse) review opgenomen van
het nieuwste onderdeel van onze Sismo 737 MIP: de Sismo Platinum Line Pedestal.
Met deze review willen wij jullie een kort idee geven van de plus- en minpunten van dit paneel.
We hebben er al het één en ander over geschreven maar binnen Aviosim zijn we continue bezig om samen met
het MT van het Aviodrome onze projecten interactief en vernieuwend te houden.
Recent is een F104 Starfighter toegevoegd aan onze collectie welke inmiddels ook voor publiek toegankelijk is.
Door technische en/of administratieve omstandigheden kan het voorkomen dat de F104 simulator tijdens uw
bezoek gesloten is.
De F104 is reeds verplaatst zodat we ook de resterende onderdelen opnieuw kunnen gaan aansluiten.
In november 2012 heeft Sismo Soluciones een 737 MIP (main instrument panel) aan Aviosim geschonken welke
momenteel in verband met de beperkte ruimte die we hebben in opslag staat maar die we op zeer korte termijn
ook voor publiek toegankelijk willen maken.
Hiernaast nemen veel nieuwe interactieve projecten steeds mooiere vormen aan op papier en wij hopen ook
deze op termijn voor de bezoeker te kunnen realiseren zodat ieder bezoek aan het Aviodrome weer wat nieuws
toevoegt aan de luchtvaartervaring.
Omdat wij onze projecten steeds blijven uitbreiden en omdat wij het liefst alle dagen open zijn voor bezoekers
zijn wij dus ook steeds op zoek naar nieuwe enthousiaste vrijwilligers.

Aankondiging FS Weekend
Hier en daar heeft u het al kunnen lezen, het eerste weekend wordt in het
Aviodrome te Lelystad weer het jaarlijkse FS Weekend georganiseerd.
Op zaterdag 2 en zondag 3 november is het Aviodrome weer omgebouwd tot
een locatie waar de flightsim wereld uit alle hoeken van de wereld weer
bijeenkomt.
Niet alleen komen er veel virtuele vliegclubs, virtuele airlines en netwerken
waar u online kunt vliegen en verkeersleiden maar u treft er ook vele
producenten van software (oa Aerosoft en NL-2000)
en hardware (Sismo Soluciones, Simworld, Flight Deck Solutions en vele andere) aan.
Natuurlijk kunt u rondlopen en genieten van de mooie collectie van het
Aviodrome. Daarnaast kunt u echter ook veel informatie inwinnen bij veel
professionele amateurs en echte piloten en verkeersleiders.
Onze partners zullen ook dit jaar weer aanwezig zijn.
Naast onze eigen simulators zullen wij ook aanwezig zijn op de stands van NL-2000 Scenery Design, Sismo
Soluciones SL en Simworld Flight Simulations om klanten en
geïnteresseerden te woord te staan.
Nieuw dit jaar is dat wij ook een 1:1 B737 MIP zullen tentoonstellen
welke aan ons geschonken is door
Sismo Soluciones (www.sismo-soluciones.com).

Sismo Pedestal Review
Recently we received the Sismo Soluciones Platinum Line Ethernet Pedestal including Platinum Line Fire Panel.
Our first impression was a positive one since the package was very safely packed filled with cellular polysturene and
sealed with plastic. We checked the content immediately in order to make sure there were no parts damaged during the
shipping. Because everything was very well packed it took a while to unpack
everything but finally we were able to review the Sismo Ethernet Pedestal.
The pedestal arrived very complete and seems to be made out of very high
quality. The entire pedestal is wonderfully finished with all interface cards well
mounted inside the pedestal. Due to Sismo’s new generation IOCards clients will
hardly find any cable since the amount of cables is reduced to an absolute
minimum. The only cables that came out of the pedestal were the Ethernet cable
(to be connected to PC or HUB) and the power supply cable. Because the pedestal
runs on Sismo’s smooth, fast and reliable Ethernet technology you won’t find any
USB’s which will saves you a lot of frustration because of a lack of bandwidth.
De pedestal is made out of metal and therefore is of high quality and very
sustainable and most of all very strong. Sismo even included the grip, fuses and
stickers like Pass Address and Interphone. This all led us to the idea that Sismo has a high level of attention to details and
quality as well as to consumer users experience.
The connection is very simple through a regular 220V power supply and an
Ethernet cable. Both of the cables are included in the shipping something we
missed with many other suppliers of cockpit hardware. Sismo not only says their
modules are plug and play: they really are plug and play!
After connecting the pedestal to the power the pedestal starts a quick diagnostic
selftest. Thereafter you can plug the ethernetcable into the switch. If you want
to connect the pedestal (or any other module) directly to your PC you need to
make sure you use a cross-over cable which is not included by default!
Sismo’s manuals are very detailed and easy to use. With the manual printed next to the pedestal we were able to run
the pedestal in only a few moments. Sismo decided to describe almost every step with illustrations and texts so it will be
very hard not to be able to connect your plug and play modules within a few minutes. Manuals are available in at least
English and Spanish and Aviosim’s crew is working on Dutch translations as well.
Important to do is installing Sismo’s SC-Pascal software. This is roughly their script program. We will not give you a
detailed review on this while it is not being used by every client (in fact you can choose any setup and scripts that you
prefer) but again with Sismo’s manuals anyone will be able to work with this. Nevertheless there are a few comments to
be made regarding the setup of this.
 You need to be certain about which cable to use, double check this or your module won’t operate. Regular
cables for connections to switches and cross-overs for module-PC connections.
 It will provide you more comfort if you use a second networkcard to separate your interne and local network.
Give this second networkcard a fixed IP. If you communicate this IP Sismo will prepare their script for you so you
won’t need to change anything in your configuration. But if you don’t know need to worry: with the detailed
Sismo manual you can do the entire setup yourself!
 It will provide you more comfort if you use a switch instead of connecting modules directly to your PC (in fact it
will be hard to connect more than one module to your PC since you won’t have enough Ethernet ports for it)
 Set the correct UDP port to OPEN in both your router, modem and/or firewall. Please refer to your router,
modem and/or firewall manual to find out how.
 Run the Sismo software and your favourite addon (Prosim737 is strongly advised by Aviosim but Sismo will also
run perfectly with any other addon like PMDG, IFly, Project Magenta and many others.)
Configuring is not difficult at all. To configure your local
network you should refer to your manuals and this will be
different for every single user of the Sismo modules. With the
manual of Sismo and the user friendly modules we were able
to be up and running with the pedestal connected to
Prosim737 and FSX within less than 10 minutes which is
absolutely rare on the cockpit hardware market! Most of the
time we needed to do many programming and/or configuring
work to get a stable configuration. As we have some
simulators to be operated and maintained in the Netherlands
we have quite some experience with many hardware suppliers
for cockpits but Sismo appears to be one of the most reliable and easy to use suppliers available on the market!
All switches and components feel very strong and realistic (even if we compare it to some real B747 components and
switches we have) Also when moving components and switches you feel that they operate “heavier” than many other
supplier modules which make it sense more realistic. According to us Sismo’s modules are a real GO for professional
cockpit builders and enthousiastics. The fact that you can choose between different lines make it more reachable for the
“lower-budget” builders too without losing quality.
Also the Fire Suppression Panel really impressed us! It was amazing to feel how strong you need to be to operate these
handles and even after using them a dozen times after each other they feel like new! It is very strong material and
reaches the real B737 panels very close!
Note: when you order Sismo’s SimCards (IO Cards for Ethernet) they will be prepared by Sismo. If you provide your
network details they will already enter the the credentials like IP addresses to the boards. This can save you some time
and is an excellent service of Sismo’s staff. However, if you don’t communicate your details you can do it yourself
without any problems.
All orders will be prepared in Spain and will be shipped directly to the client mostly within two weeks after the order was
made. Sometimes when you compare it with others Sismo appears to be slightly more expensive however in fact it isn’t
while you get more included and everything really is plug and play!
As said in the beginning we are very impressed by Sismo’s quality and
friendly support. They always answer to any query within 24 hours or if
they need longer they will communicate this with you. According to us it
is a very good sale you make when buying Sismo products for you home
cockpit and soon we will complete our Sismo cockpit with the MIP, the
Pedestal and many other modules in the Netherlands.
For those not so handy and therefore unable to spend hours on
mounting wooden plates, connecting cables, soldering connectors and
programming scripts and software: consider Sismo! Plug and Play and
ready to use in less than 10 minutes without any soldering, mounting or
programming!

in order to spread the investment you can easily plugin the next one if you bought a new panel. Also it saves you
many cables and connectors!

Verbouwing
Na het FSweekend in november zullen er plannen gemaakt gaan worden om de huidige situatie van onze
simulatoren verder te gaan verbeteren.
Na de heropening van het Aviodrome is er voor ons een nieuwe plek gemaakt.
Daar wij met onze projecten niet stil staan zijn we een beetje te groot geworden voor de plek waar wij nu staan
Er is dan ook overleg geweest met het Aviodrome om te kijken naar een andere plek binnen de grote hal.
Dit bleek echter en niet haalbaar project te zijn, daarom is er besloten de huidige plek “beter” te maken.
Zoals in het welkomst woord al gezegd is er reeds een begin gemaakt door de F104 te verplaatsen naar zijn
nieuwe plek waar eerst de linktrainers stonden.
Hierna zullen we een paar dagen dicht moeten om de rest aan te
pakken.
De rest van de plannen bestaat uit het volgende.
De grote B737 simulator (de Droge Zee) zal worden gedraaid om zo
deze beter in het zicht te hebben
en om ook een betere toegang te krijgen tot de simulator.
Tevens zal de radar kast (SARPII) worden gedraaid om beter zicht er op te
krijgen voor de bezoekers.
Daarnaast zal er later nog zogenoemde “mini” simulatoren naast de F104
geplaatst worden om zo de allerkleinste bezoekers ook de kans te geven
om een stukje te vliegen met de lichtere vliegtuigjes.
Daarnaast zijn er plannen om op het balkon in de grote hal een toren simulator te maken om zo ook het publiek
bekend te maken met het lucht verkeers leiding deel van het vliegen.
Deze toren simulator zal niet bediend kunnen worden door het publiek maar geeft wel een indruk wat een toren
controler voor een uitzicht heeft als deze naar buiten kijkt over het vliegveld. Deze toren simulator kan
aangesloten worden op het netwerk om zo het online
verkeer van IVAO te zien. Wel kunnen er vrijwilligers
achter de “knoppen” gaan zitten om het IVAO verkeer te
voorzien van de benodigde begeleiding. Meer hierover zal
volgen als daadwerkelijk de plannen en datums rond zijn.

Oproep voor vrijwilligers
Omdat wij nog steeds groeien en ons project steeds verder uitbreiden met op korte termijn hoogstwaarschijnlijk
wederom nieuwe flight simulators zijn wij nog altijd op zoek naar enthousiaste vrijwilligers die door de weeks
en/of in het weekend beschikbaar zijn om ons bij te staan.

Eventueel bedienen van de SARP II simulator op één van de online netwerken
Uitleg geven over de simulator(s) en/of luchtvaart in het algemeen aan wachtende bezoekers

In de gelegenheid zijn minimaal 1 a 2 keer per maand aanwezig te zijn (bij voorkeur meer natuurlijk) van
maandag t/m zondag. Let op, de planning gaat altijd in overleg met u, u wordt dus niet zomaar ergens
ingezet!
De gelegenheid hebben zelf naar Lelystad te reizen. In principe kan dit natuurlijk ook met OV. Er zijn
inmiddels prima bus- en treinverbindingen met Lelystad en Lelystad Airport en de Aviodrome
