Custom Commercial Fabric Restoration Services (CCFRS) today announced that ASAP Dry
Cleaning and CCFRS have joined forces in offering restoration dry cleaning services to the
insurance industry. Through this collaboration,
the insurance industry will benefit from improved
pricing models, expanded coverage areas, and

Festive East Bay Claims Holiday Party
Well attended luncheon at Scott’s Seafood in Walnut Creek
provides gifts a-plenty for soldiers in Iraq.
The East Bay Claims Association held its annual Holiday party at Scott’s Seafood Restaurant in Walnut Creek on December 14, 2005. Members turned
out for this luncheon party by the droves. The crowd was treated to the barbershop quartet stylings of The Incredibles. A festive atmosphere pervaded,
with members and guests mingling and visiting. The event featured some
excellent cuisine, lots of door prizes, along with the mostly holiday music.
Members were encouraged to bring gifts for soldiers in Iraq. Thanks to Lisa
Winn, of Vanderbuilt Construction, for organizing the event, as well as the
donations and their delivery. Thanks, also, to Harbro Construction for their
donation of the boxing materials. Happy New Year to all!

Legal Case Law Update with Dick
Audley at January 11th Meeting

Guest speaker for the January 11, 2005 luncheon
meeting of the East Bay Claims Association is perennial
favorite, Dick Audley. A partner in the Berkeley-based
law firm of Audley & Audley, Dick has been sharing his
legal expertise with his annual legal case law updates
since well back into last century.
Born in Seattle, Dick grew up across the Bay in
Burlingame, California, where he reportedly just attended his 50th high school reunion.
He did his undergraduate work at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, graduating magna cum laude
in economics in 1959.
He then attended Law school at Boalt Hall, University of California in Berkeley. He graduated in 1962
and passed the bar that same year.
He joined Thornton & Taylor in San Francisco out
of law school and practiced property insurance defense
there for 15 years, the last 12 as a partner.
“I went out on my own in 1977 and now practice
with my son Michael, a 1987 graduate of Hastings
Law School in Berkeley,” he tells us. “We’re still doing
property insurance defense and still loving it.”

and develop relationships that will pay dividends
in making their work so much easier.
The vendors benefit by having an opportunity
to develop those relationships and expand them
with the insurance industry and the adjusters they
do business with. The most important part of our
meeting is the social networking gathering prior
to the meeting and just after and “table talk” we
have when the Speaker is not speaking. If I am
at the podium feel free to keep talking as long as
you are achieving the goals set out above. Don’t
worry, I can talk over you.
We will try to keep informative speakers related to our Industry lined up for our monthly
speaker agenda, as well as other speakers of
general interest for the group.
Our goal this year is to add more insurance
adjusters. Don’t worry the vendors will follow. We
offer our insurance adjusters a complimentary
lunch and appreciate it when they attend. Any
vendor caught tackling an insurance adjuster
and throwing them to the floor will be sent to
their room without lunch. Be forewarned. I also
promised you a little bit of fun while we do this,
to keep these luncheons fun, interesting, informative and profitable. It will only work if everyone
attends so I expect 100% attendance at every
meeting or I am not doing my job and I hate to
be a failure.
