Use WYLDCat to:
WYLDCat (http://wyld.state.wy.us/) is an online public access library
• Find Items in 80+
catalog that contains the records of material located in more than 80 Wyoming
libraries. Users can search for items located in their own library as well as in
libraries across the state. WYLDCat also allows users to review their library
account, renew material, and order items through Interlibrary Loan.

To Access WYLDCat:
• Go to http://wyld.state.wy.us/
Basic Search
To perform a Basic Search in WYLDCat, enter your term(s) in the Search for field and click the button
corresponding to the area you want to search in (i.e. search Keywords, Author, Title, Subject, Series, or
Periodical Title).
You can limit your searches by using Boolean operators, Wildcard symbols, and Truncation. Visit the Help
Screen for more information.
This screen also allows you to log into your library account and contains links to Best Seller and Book Award
Lists as well as to a form for requesting materials through Interlibrary Loan.

Search Results
The WYLDCat Search Results screen displays the term(s) searched, the total number of results, and lists
matching items in reverse chronological order.
Each result lists the item’s Title, Author, Date of Publication, Current Availability, and Cover Picture
(if available). Click on the Full Details button to view more information about a particular result.
To search for more or different items, you can use the Search Again form located at the bottom of the screen.
Hint: To easily print or email several results, Click the (+) My List icon for each item and then Click the
My List link (near the top of the screen).

The WYLDCat Item View screen contains three tabs: Item Information, A Look Inside, and Catalog
Record. The Item Information tab includes the item’s publishing information, a short summery of the item
(if available), and lists the libraries that own the item. The A Look Inside tab contains reviews and the
table of contents for the item (if available). The Catalog Record tab includes the item’s searchable subject
terms and in-depth bibliographical information on the item.
You can place a hold on an item or request it through Interlibrary Loan by Clicking on the Request icon.
You can find similar items or more items by this author by Clicking on the Find more by this author and
Find more on these topics links.
